Hello Fat Jockeys,

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

In respect of the £250k challenge........I need Billaway to be priced up with the bookies you guys use. Not trying to give away one of my selections of course.......
Depends what race you want him priced up for, wouldnt surprise if you tipped him for champion hurdle trying to get that 250k with one selection

    • Supreme Novices - isn't called this for nothing.

The renewal of 2018 included the following.
Looking at how they all matured for a couple more seasons and change of disciplines for some.

Summerville Boy 6th in stayers 2020
Lostintranslation 3rd in Gold Cup 2020
Simply the Betts 1st in Brown Advisory 2020
Sharjah 2nd in Champion hurdle 2020
Us and Them 3rd in Plate 2020

And a few who turned out rubbish.

From the 2019 renewal there appears to be some interesting horses for the coming season.

      Klassical Dream - chasing ?
      Thomas Darby - stayers ?
      Itchy Feet - Ryanair/Gold Cup/Handicap ?
Fakir Doudairies - Queen Mother ?
      Felix Desjy - Arkle ?
      Aramon - Champion hurdle ?
      Angels Breath - Ryanair ?
      Mister Fisher - Handicap ?

That's the first eight home in the 2019 supreme and it actually looks not too bad. Many get positive mentions on this forum in any case.
As regards likely Cheltenham 2021 contenders at the minute anyhow.

      • Room for plenty related multiples in those eight I reckon.

Andy Holding ahs put up Mister Fisher for the QMCC I think I remember seeing... probably fits in to one of the ones for that race that SW did some work on too (that was basically saying shit horses place in the QMCC) - I'm paraphrasing He is more eloquent than that.

I think that Waterford Crystal paid quite a lot of money in 1978 to rename it.

It was the Gloucestershire Hurdle until 1974 and the Lloyds Bank Champion Novice Hurdle for a few years.

You really are showing your age now. Those were the days. I remember trying to keep warm at the festival under the corregated roof of a stand (shed more like) in the Best Mate enclosure back then. Right shit hole. Still went every day though!

When a morally bankrupt government tells me it's my moral duty to make sure that I keep away from the pub so that kids (whose parents are jamming up Bournemouth beach and littering Liverpool pier head after an historic league win) can go back to school, I feel my age.
1979 - Pollardstown beats Badsworth Boy in the Triumph and Alverton won the Gold Cup - my first Festival day so I've only ever seen it live as the Supreme.

Easy quiz question. Which is the only horse to win two consecutive Festival races?

I know the scenario and races and am not even close to naming the horse.

                  • Oddly enough, won both races by 12l.

Would the first race be the County Hurdle?

What are the races? Maybe I'll come up with the horse if it's in my time

                        • When it was first introduced, the bumper was the last race of the meeting.

Pollardstown, was he not trained by the great Stan Mellor who recently passed away? Alverton was Easterbys I know that.

                            • Maybe I don't then, I thought it was a novice hurdle and the county hurdle?

I know Rory Delargy knows is a more accurate statement.

Ok. That's why I said County Hurdle as that was always the last race in my time . Let me have a think
