Hello Fat Jockeys,

  • That pretty much went to perfection for me.

Surprised just how well FH settled when they were going so slow.

    • If seeing these two neck and neck approaching the last doesn't fill you with excitement nothing will.

A thoroughly pleasing debut for the both.

Bearing in mind ferny was backed in to 1/3 he must have been fairlyforward for today.

Bob Olinger did great, he was just beaten by a better horse on the day.

I would step Bob up to 2 mile 4 but see no reason to with Ferny.

      • Fernys jumping not great but his turn of foot has a good crack at making up for it. If they can nail the first part between now and March it'll take a good 'en.

        • Two very, very nice prospects. FH seems to have matured a good bit and settled surprisingly well.

Still think the further FH goes the better, but time will tell... But there is no doubting he looks top class and has a very powerful engine.

          • Yes Ferny settled much better today, really enjoyed that race. Still no idea whether he is Supreme or Ballymore though, I guess we will be guessing a few more months at least. Bob O ran very well also, was pleased with the pair of them.

            • 2 good horses, cosy enough for Ferny, and he looked adaptable enough.
strong pace 2 miles would be ideal I reckon - but he'd be just as useful in the other race too.

Agreed, he would have been unmanageable at that pace last season. It'll surely be a step up in trip for BO next time out.

                • Perfect run by both. Perfect result. Supreme/Albert

                  • Happy enough with that myself. If Bob Olinger is getting outpaced by the eventual Supreme winner in a sprint finish then he'll go mighty close in a Ballymore.

Not loads on Ferny Hollow myself but he is still 8/1 which surprises me a bit.

Albert? Surely they’ll try Bob over the Ballymore trip (I’m hoping so anyway)

                      • Echo what others say about FH settling, was apparent from the word go, matured massively. Very satisfying watch, no wonder the others were at pains to finish miles back, not that they'd have had too much choice anyway! Love this game.

Agreed. Just had a little go at a Supreme/Ballymore double with them.

                            • To my surprise they did take each other on ha.
ferny was keen in the first half of the race (pace looked slow) but not mad man keen which was good to see for races leading up to Cheltenham.
faster pace of the Supreme is really going to suit him though.
bob ran a really nice race and a step up should suit him.
nice performance from the pair of them.

                              • Happy with that result as a bob ollinger backer (ballymore) had the better round of jumping of the 2, and wasnt horrendously outpaced by FH in the finish either. He's a really striking looking horse and will be great when stepped up in trip a bit
