How did I miss this thread?!

I'll watch it all this morning. As others have said, well done for putting yourselves out there

I enjoyed that - well done all

I've voted that he's a bad bet for the Arkle (having already backed him for it) but actually think he's priced about right. It has got me thinking about what I do with Appreciate It though.

I think you should put up an ante post trixie at the end of each video.

Good stuff chaps well articulated between yourself. Kevloaf you need a t-shirt mocking up with "It's not certain" repeated several times across it

P.s, Spectre you've got some hologram vibes going off.

Finished it and thought it was good quality throughout to be honest.

Spectre the horse behind you takes some getting used to lol.

Still a big IF over whether he goes chasing for me like you say Kev.

Firstly, great idea, great execution and great insights from all of you that took part in the popping of the FJ Podcast cherry. If you want to increase the Forum profile then this is certainly another feather in its cap.

                Some constructive feedback:

1.) 45 minutes on one topic is very long and I'm not sure that is sustainable over time. It's fine for the podcast to be 45 minutes in total but I would suggest covering at least three topics in that time to keep the listeners engaged.

2.) As this is an open forum and there are many great contributors, I would make the panel interchangeable and give as many posters a chance to take part as possible. It's probably wise to have a consistent MC to cover the technical side, make introductions, set the scene and then steer the conversation and progress topics as needed.

3.) Those that don't want to take part in a recording could still suggest topics or pose questions for the panel each week so that they are still involved in some capacity. If the topics and questions are known in advance then posters can put themselves forward to take part if it's a subject they feel strongly on.

Great stuff lads. Spectre reminds me of the bloke who works for the racing post. Not pricewise but the one who works with him on one of those programmes.

All three very articulate and make many a good point. Going to be a great addition to the forum! Well done again.

I’d agree with all three points here. Particularly the first one as 45 minutes about one horse is a lot and whilst all of us will watch (I’d suggest anyone on a forum dedicated to the Cheltenham festival all year round are hardcores), the majority of viewers wouldn’t watch 45 mins per episode for one horse or even one race. 2 or 3 topics an episode would work perfectly I’d imagine.

Well done lads. It would be good to see a podcast on each respective Cheltenham Festival race with the main protagonists involved. Can you have questions from other members throughout the podcast??

30mins for each race per podcast seems reasonable. Especially if you have a fair amount of contenders. The handicaps would be a great watch with questions & opinions from various members.

many podcasts are guilty of glossing over a lot of the races and concentrating on just the big races & big players, this I believe is NOT what the real race fans want. Each race has its merits.

Great to put faces to a few names on here, agree with what Eggs said too, Festival Preview of all the races in build up to the Festival would be brilliant. Top job.
The odds for a Fat Jockey Cheltenham Preview have been slashed according to the odds checking websites... - will try and master crawling and walking first though....

Will this always be done through teams? Some sort of text box for listeners to drop a live comment or topic for discussion could be an idea in the future if there's a format for that.
No, unlikely to ever be on Teams again actually... next should be YouTube....

The live comments and questions section is something I've seen on other podcasts and think would be a good idea in the main... especially for aforementioned 'previews' if (when) we get around to it. I did think about setting up a Sunday evening interactive video where people can join and just talk about the weekends racing too, whether that'd be worth recording, editing, doing... who knows, but I think it's potentially got legs...

                              1) yeah we did think 20-30 minutes is probably the sweet spot going forwards, but first one was suck it and see.... and to be fair with some editing could probably have trimmed away some. I do think there is a time and place for really long podcasts...but I don't think this'll be one reguarly topping 45 mins...

                              2) I think I mentioned in the first post, the plan is very much to have an interchangeable panel, getting people on to put a case they've made already and/or feel strongly about is going to be a lot better than having one of us read through and try and make a case that someone else has made... that's obviously do-able, but I prefer the idea of others getting involved... with some obvious consistency as you've mentioned.

                              3) Agree here too, questions and topics very much welcomed, and volunteers. We'll do a few more this week and see where we're at.
