Yep. The Pertempts form was given a big boost today so both those would have decent chances.

    • Paul Nichols confirms Cyrname had breathing difficulties today and, “will investigate if there is anymore we can do to sort it”. Sounds quite ominous unfortunately.

Confirms he won’t go to Chelts

        • BEACON EDGE had a colic at Christmas and spent nearly a week in Kildare (veterinary clinic). He was just wasn't himself in Naas last time, but he's a fair horse. I wondered about him getting the trip but he stays. He's a very nice horse. Michael (O'Leary) had it in his head that he'd go to the Aintree Hurdle but he's in the Stayers. We have Diol Ker as well and we'll see what turns up in it. He was meant to go over fences this year but when we thought about what was coming out over fences we said we might be as well staying where we are. We got it right the way it looks at the minute anyway. That was a nice prize today and a nice race to win - Noel Meade, trainer.

Few mentioned him today, post race comments.

Yeah janidil might go to the marsh chase! Just one problem there Willie...you withdrew him! Tells you all you need to know about that stable tour, don’t waste your time reading it.

Think they'll stick to plan A and go Aintree with Beacon. Makes sense as Diol Ker would be better suited of the two to the Stayers.

              • Yes, you'd think so, particularly when Gordon clearly prefers Sire du Berlais and The Storyteller for the race and is sending Fury Road elswhere. Fury Road would reverse off levels, which suggests he wouldn't place in the Stayers.

Beacon Edge should have been campaigned for the Coral Cup and then a tilt at the Aintree Hurdle. Noel Meade hasn't the first idea how to set out a plan to handicap horses. Gordon would have won the Coral Cup or the Pipe by ten lengths if he'd had the horse.

                  One I thought was interesting:

                  James Du Berlais
                  Entry: Champion Hurdle

“He was among the top four-year-olds in France last season. Simon Munir and Isaac Souede bought him as a novice chaser rather than a hurdler, but we’re going to have a crack at the Champion Hurdle with him. It’s a case of the Champion Hurdle or the Stayers’ and I think the Stayers’ would be too much of an ask for a five-year-old. I’d be hoping he can pick up a share of the prize-money too, he’s a nice horse. He’s goes straight there.”

He may pick up prize money. It does go down to 8th so he has a chance.

Wonder who the jockey would be - Jacob or does Townend get a shout to choose between JDB, Saint Roi & Saldier? Assuming Patrick rides Sharjah.

It's probably because he has absolutely bugger all else to be keen about in the race

                        JdB is his only 'unknown'.
