Never ran further than 2 miles so you’d imagine so.

    • Pleased to hear Next Destination is confirmed as having the old RSA as his target. Trainer and jockey had been consistent on that throughout the season but I’d seen some poster mention the NHC. Think he has great chance of placing and it’d need just the one mistake from Monkfish and the win isn’t out of the question - not much else to be scared of if LE goes NHC.

        Remaining runners
Plans for all the handicaps have not yet been finalised, but I expect to send a strong team of runners, which could include Betfair Hurdle winner Pic D'Orhy, Christopher Wood and Wild Max.
Get Pic D'Orhy in the Grand Annual and he would be of interest. Needs the minimum trip yet PN seems to think he's a 2 and a half miler. His runs in France showed as a 4 year old he barely got the 2m trip and that hasn't changed.

I did read or hear someone say, that he'd said, Good Ball will exploit his mark against older horses rather than stick to juvenile company.

Cheers. Wonder if that means they will skip the festival altogether then?

That was my impression, although based on Nicholls being a 'pot hunter' not from the actual words.... but yeah.

I have him NRNB in the Boodles, don't think I'll get a run.

                • Nicholls on Dec 29th in RP, so the six weeks has come and gone

Good Ball earned a quote of 33-1 with Paddy Power for the JCB Triumph Hurdle after winning the introductory hurdle, but Paul Nicholls is thinking further ahead for the strapping son of globetrotting Flat performer Doctor Dino.

The 11-time champion trainer reckons the three-year-old will be an awesome prospect over fences next season and was pleasantly surprised by the result.

"He's not been flashy at home," said Nicholls. "He was always going to be favourite because he was second in France, but sometimes when they come over they take time to acclimatise. We'll find a nice race for him in six weeks, but ultimately he'll make a really nice three-mile chaser – he nearly wants three miles now."

                  • David Bridgewater - The Conditional ..... " he's in the Gold Cup , he's in the Grand National , and he'll be entered for the same race he won at the festival last year .
we'll either be going back to that race , which would be great . Or if he Overperforms on Sunday ( Denman Chase ),
then we might look at the Gold Cup . Which would be the Owner's Dream " . Racing t.v. sat 13/02/21. - 12-17.

                    • Nicholls mentioned the older horses thing at the same time he was entered against older horses in a low level handicap that was abandoned.
                      Not been entered up since.

                      • Cheers chaps. Might give it a week for an entry if not then I'll probably cash him out, as I think he needs another run anyway.

                        • ....Jonjo O’Neil stable tour, Cloth Cap not going to Cheltenham;

The Master of Jackdaws Castle is targeting more Grand National glory while the future looks bright thanks to some smart-looking Bumper performers.
