Olly Murphy has put up CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER as his horse to follow in Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers to Follow, says he will start out over 2m maiden hurdle but fully expects him to be a 2m4f Graded hurdler by the end of the season... any price you like for the Ballymore!!

Do people think Olly can break into the top tier and start winning the graded races at Cheltenham. I've been guilty over the last few years of backing his, Harry Fry and Dan Skelton horses but the Big Guns seem to be getting stronger, rather than the next level down taking winners away from them.

You only have to look at the recent sales and where those horses have been sent to answer that question. Mullins , Henderson and particularly Gordon will be very hard to beat in all the top races for a few years to come yet. Always possible of course that a trainer outside the top tier can win but it is getting increasingly more difficult and rare.

Olly had a nightmare getting his good horses to the Festival, and then had another nightmare at the Festival.

He will need to turn that trainer form inside out.

Do the most expensive horses always win the races they run in? Pipe and Jonjo should have way more success

I've certainly changed strategy though and pretty much only look at the powerful yards now. The only big yards that I flip-flop on are Paul Nicholls and Colin Tizzard as they both flatter to deceive at Cheltenham.

Dan Skelton has already come out and said he isn’t fussed how many winners he gets this season, he’s done the 200 in a season already and wants to focus solely on quality from now on with a view to being a future champion trainer, obviously not going to be this season but that is where he is heading, personally have no idea about Olly Murphy's string but he’s bound to have on or two potential graded ones in there due to how his career has started, I feel Paul Nicholls is going to come on really strong this season in terms of numbers and quality, everyone in the yard seems to be really happy with the new recruits, feel it’s the first time in a good few seasons that they have the firepower to contest those top juvenile races which could be interesting

I have no doubt whatsoever that he's a future Champion trainer, and he's already off the mark with Cheltenham winners too - he's one of a select few that have any potential to become a major yard... I'd prefer a horse with him than the Tizzards already which may be an unpopular opinion!

Mate of mine said exactly the same . He rates Skelton highly . Only takes a few more big race winners and the big owners will start moving a few his way. That's 'all' it takes.

He done an interview, can’t remember who with, maybe mick Fitzgerald, it was on sky sports racing a few weeks back, no link unfortunately, Was about 20 minutes long and gave some good insight

I watched that aswell i really like him as much as goshen was a beast i do beleive allmankind is still a very good horse, could of done with another run just before the festival, get the feeling they thought they would wrap him up in cotton wool
