I think Honeysuckle will go for the Mares hurdle again if she’s fit and well, it’s the right race for her which she can win again.. I don’t think it was a fluke she beat Benie and if they meet at Cheltenham in the same race Honey will win again. I think Benie needs to go up in trip, Honeysuckle beat her fair and square and I think Willie was clutching at straws blaming Robbie Power.

I would say it is long odds on that Honeysuckle remains over hurdles and returns for the Mares Hurdle.

As for Benie Des Deux I would like to see her have a crack at the Stayers but if she does go Mares again they will no doubt ensure a stronger pace.

Was watching a racing central podcast last night and the guest presenter reckoned he had 'inside' info that would suggest Captain Guiness would have another season over hurdles. The validity of the source I obviously don't know, and i've seen HDB say the arkle would be 'the obvious step'

Certainly not implausible given he's only had 3 races under rules in his life.

I did toy with this idea too given he’s only had 3 runs over hurdles and obviously was running a big race when brought down.

Given HDB has said aspire tower will be aimed at the champion hurdle sort of changed my opinion of the above. Suppose will depend how they both run on there respective comebacks.

We all know the problem juveniles have stepping into open company.

Edit - do they see how aspire can overturn the distance Goshen had put between them as well, seems a big ask even given how horses develop at different rates.

As you say, you'd be surprised if Aspire Tower was CH quality given the troubles juveniles have, let alones ones not winning the triumph.

It will be a difficult enough task for Goshen, stepping up from juvenile company, let alone Aspire Tower, who would have been hammered by Goshen.

The horse is over rated on his achievements so far. Losing to Andy Dufresne over hurdles isn't as impressive as he's been given credit for...and there aren't many "unlucky" horses at the festival that get overlooked in the market which 50/1 would be.



With a cashout option I'd risk 50/1 today, but it's 33/1 and I can leave that for today at least.


Part of me can't help but feeling this horse is going to have more followers than he deserves and has the potential to be expensive to follow.

I would agree with that. Pure guesswork what would have happened in the Supreme - a distant third or fourth would be my guess - but that form with Andy Dufresne looks dubious.

Yep, I watched it and thought the same. I agree with Kev and not fussed with him for the CH at the moment but seriously contemplating cashing my Arkle bet. Anyone know of a reason not to take this guy at his word? Don’t get me wrong I don’t need for it to certain they are staying over hurdles but if it looks a genuine possibility (as it sounds) then I’ll cash all day long. Could always reinvest at 20s if chasing is confirmed later in the summer if so desired
