Delta Work had lost the race before the final circuit, Mark Walsh never had him jumping, I rate Walsh but he it was a very poor round of jumping.
He’s unbeaten under Jack Kennedy and 4/5 under Davy who getting him jumping great. Lack of rhythm got him beat at Down Royal too.
He is also only 7 so is still in with a shout next year

It's just a surprise that if you didn't really like the horse before this years Gold Cup, that you'd take him out of the race for next years?
If Jack Kennedy is the big positive (unbeaten on him), his best form is beating Monalee by a Head or Kemboy by 1.5L - neither look like Gold Cup winning form now.
I see he's 25/1, which is a price I can see some appeal in as it's going to be bigger than he is on the day.... but I struggle to see why he'd be your main pick in the race, that's all I was asking

Had a second wind to write this after failing yesterday. During the most surreal of times I had a really good Festival. Slightly increased profit on last year and did it with 100 point less of free bets (made up for by an increase in my real money outlay), which is the new normal after all the cut backs. Thought the racing was fantastic with some great finishes and was largely really pleased with the results. Thought I’d post some of my high and lows:
Highs
After backing Concertista the day before managed to have 5 winners and 2 nice priced places (in the other 2) on the Thursday which was amazing. Obvs not quite the same when you back multiple horses but still was a great feeling
Had 12 winners throughout the week which I would have been delighted with pre-festival that said only Envoi Allen could be considered a big winner
Lows
The Stayers Hurdle was easily the race I was most excited about on Thursday however with Emitom coming 4th without PP in the first 3 I actually lost a few quid on the race despite Ronald Pump’s efforts. Watching it live I was willing Emitom into 4th only to realise afterwards that as PP wasn’t in the first 3 i’d lost, not helped by a partial place lay on the first 4. Anyway had 3 winners before and 2 after so was soon forgotten
I mentioned Ferny Hollow on another thread but really disappointed that I cashed my real money stake the week before after he drifted substantially on the exchange- lesson learned there. Was fortunate he was still a small winner due to the free bets I had on
Was disappointed none of my potential big winners came in apart from Envoi Allen who was significantly less than a fair few others. Carefully Selected in particular was really disappointing.
............................................
Overall i’d settle for these results year on year and a massive thanks again to all the great posters on here who have aided my betting immeasurably over the last few years. Hoping we get a chance to do it all again next seasonLast edited by Rhinestone_Cowboy; 22 March 2020, 07:49 PM.
