Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Haven’t had a punt in months prior to this week but eventually got round to getting some fancies in the book before the NH action kicks off in earnest, great to see some solid input frm the old faithful & some very informative new names posting!

No groundbreaking shouts from me, most are all picks that have served me well in previous festivals but we all know how important course form is!

    Marsh: Chantry House e/w 20/1
    Gold Cup: Topofthegame e/w 16/1
    Mares: Burning Victory e/w 20/1
Triumph: Quilioxios e/w 25/1 (thanks to some very comprehensive info in the Triumph thread)
Double: Abacadabras & Envoi Allen win 27/1

    - Have Exilr D’Ainay well covered for the Arkle at 50/1
    - The Ballyadam/Ferny Hollow reverse double
    - Skybets Topofthegame Ladbrokes/Gold Cup double 66/1

Those are some nice positions! Im looking to top up on elixir this weekend for the arkle! Even though i have him already i watched the supreme the other day and he was just cruising no trouble what so ever, his form beforehand was nice aswell and i think he could turn into mullins number 1 arkle horse

Absolutely Ray, Elixir D’Ainay looked very threatening when he easily lost 3/4 lengths getting bumped at the 3rd last & race finished at the 2nd last, even the current 33/1 looks great value!

He’s physically a strapping/scopey sort who should take to fences no problem should WPM send him that direction.

        • Does anyone have racing post members club, David Jennings has put up 4 tips for the festival all at 33/1 or bigger and I’m a little intrigued to know who they are? Thanks

It is Fantasio - I thought it was a misprint

                  • After what was said in the finishing line podcast and following Princess Zoe’s win in the Cadran I’ve cashed her out for the Mares Novices - surprised 365 were still offering that.

                    • Agreed MB, bet 365 even upped the cash out by 20% when they cut him to 6/1. I cashed out at that point.

                      • Yep same re: PZ. Can’t see anyway she goes MNH now.

                        • Does anyone know how often we see a ‘Coneygree’ horse at the Festival? A horse that surpasses expectation after instant progress in his novice races and having a go at the top prize?? Does anyone this Envoi or Shiskin might do a Coneygree this year?? Coneygree was one of my my favourite horses of all time, what he did in 2015 was incredible. Do you think this year we might see a novice power his way out of novice company and go for the championship races?

                          • I dont think so, the prices people are paying for nags these days it could be dicey going for things early and risk your horses getting bottomed out IMO

                            • I'm sure the Bradstocks ,knew what they were doing with Coneygree .
If they knew he was a bit fragile at the time , they probably thought .
it was then or never ?. Maybe if he was sounder they might have stuck.
to the Novice route , a happy accident.
Agree with Ray , the money being paid ,Owners, Trainers treading carefully.

                              • What an incredible season that was for Coneygree, it’s a shame he couldn’t maintain his progression but that was stellar, I backed him every race that season. I think Envoi or Shiskin may have a go at the Ryanair and Champion Chase if they looks as limited as they do at present especially if Samcro, Min or Altior are out
