I couldn’t believe it when I saw him last on the race card but couldn’t get any money on before the off but got a bit on mid race. His last race was in the Triumph at the Festival where he was expected to run well and then he’s running in a Class 5, 2 mile flat race at Chepstow next time out. He won and I’m still annoyed I missed the price. I think we’ll see scenarios like this quite often over the summer while trainers and owners try to get some racing fitness & experience in their horses.

Another Triumph horse runs tomorrow in the 1.30pm at Tipperary. Recent Revelations of Gordon Elliot, currently 2/1. This is a hurdle race though but he should have a very good chance. I think I’ll put him in a roll over double with Abracadabras.
Think it was Boodles not Triumph.

      • Hills have clipped Lamarkise from 50/1 into 33/1 - hopefully, we can see what she is capable of this season!

Surprised it's taken this long tbh! Backed her a week after the festival and a small write up on the diary section.

They clearly thought a bit about her, but her debut wouldn't have had her looking like a 2miler so can understand why she didn't turn up at the festival. Really looking forward to her and don't see many of the other 50's staying there for too long.

I backed her any race very early because of how high they seemed to value her, 20/1 any race price.

Do you think they would maybe consider chasing? She did seem a big old mare. Scooby might have a better idea as he seemed very sweet on her last year.

Nice price indeed! She really could be anything - so 50/1 is more than fair all things considered.

I did initially think that but she has only had 1 one run over hurdles over here and 2 in her lifetime so I would have thought she would have another year over hurdles. She could end up in a handicap hurdle though.

                • Hopefully Lamarckise has honed her physique down from that "barrel body" she had on her belated debut this year.

                    • I’ve followed others in on the Lamarckise 50/1 EW as it does seem too big, but the other one that caught my eye was Marie’s rock for Nicky Henderson. 33/1 in places and as Low as 16/1 in a lot of others. She was wining impressively last season and went favourite for the mares novice before being injured. Strikes me as too big a price at 33/1. Although I must admit I’ve heard no plans yet, my presumption would be that she would stay over hurdles another year. Don’t know if any one else has heard any thing on updates or plans or chasing?

Nicky said her injury was a small stress fracture and she would be perfectly fine for next season so I’m not too worried on the injury front.

Think 33/1 with cash out is a fair punt, I’m getting tempted.

She looks all speed to me so the extra distance would be a concern. 33/1 is a fair price though.

Ah the distance had slipped my mind a little, just hard to place her anywhere else.

Yeah, I'd go along with this, though her breeding would give her a little hope of getting the trip.

She's got 2m options though, one being the obvious Champion Hurdle route (rated higher than Epatante at this stage of their respective careers) or if things don't work out at that level she could be a decent handicap option, maybe the county.

                            • Hi Gang, long time lurker....now stepping out of the shadows. Im more of a flat punter but do like to dabble with Chelts and the National.

Wanted to get your thoughts on a bet I've not seen mentioned much....Easy As That.

2/2 in bumpers last year, including an absolute romp on heavy ground LTO. That performance earned him a Timeform rating of 118+, third only to Appreciate It 119 and Ferny Hollow 123.

Not sure he beat much that day but he's clearly talented, especially on winter ground.

So whats the bet? He's 14/1 to win any race, I'm not interested in that. What I am interested in is SkyBets 50/1 for the Supreme Novices. Why? He looks to have a decent enough engine for 2m but more of an influence is that his owners sent Itchy Feet, Simply The Betts and Saint Calvados through the Supreme route. Now only Itchy Feet placed for connections but I think this one is an arguably better bumper horse.

                              Thoughts?

                                Firstly, welcome aboard Green Goddess

Easy As That is yet another horse on my list of about 3000 I really thought his 2 NH Flat races were quite taking, and another good looking type for the Brooks'.

As far as the season ahead goes, literally could go anywhere on breeding alone and clearly doesn't lack speed. 25/1 any race probably the play, or backing for the novice hurdle races with cash out. That said, not sure how Venetia has fared in the main znovice Hurdle races at the festival over the years?
