Interesting to see Mogul appear in the betting for the Triumph Hurdle, so I couldn't resist 0.5 point to win at boosted odds of 57-1.

I dont want to start a conspiracy theory, as there probably isn't any substantive evidence yet, particularly since A P O'Brien is adamant that Mogul is still being aimed at the Derby.

But what if Mogul was to follow a similar path to Sir Erec and switch codes after running at Ascot. The transition of trainers from APO to J P O'Brien is something we have seen before and maybe it's also not a coincidence that Michael Tabor and Mrs John Magnier who part own Mogul also part owned Sir Erec and we know they are close friends with JP. Mcmanus. Could lightning strike twice ?
Id want 570/1 For for him to go hurdling never mind win triumph

    • I know nothing about the flat but surely Mogul will still run in The Derby?

      • Echo what has been said above very much doubt it.

Only half a point nortons but seems a wasted half point imo unless you have cash out.

        • This will probably get more reads here so...

Anyone considering a bet on Robin De Carlow? I'm afraid that she's had a setback and will not be winning the Galway Plate. With a bit of luck she'll be back in the New Year so not yet ready for the 'Missing the Festival' thread. Whether or not the track and fences suit her would be another matter.

Sorry to hear that Archie. Given the timescales i sounds like a minor setback and hopefully she can be aimed at a nice race or two at the end of the season.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

That’s disappointing news for you Archie. I did have her on my list of fancies for the Mares Chase. Thank you for the heads up and I hope she makes a full and quick recovery from her setback.

              • Not sure if anyone else saw Harry Cobden yesterday but he put up Bravemansgame as the horse he was most looking forward to this season, apparently has been schooling well over hurdles, was soundly beaten by Israel champ in an Ascot bumper although that horse is thought highly of in the pipe stable, Bravemansgame was clearly not one for bumpers and will seemingly progress for jumping, he also rated Master TommyTucker as a horse to bounce back this season after his jumping let him down the last, says he has a serious engine under the bonnet..!!

                • Master Tommytucker sure has a serious engine but his biggest issue is putting in a clean round of jumping fences!! If he can stay on his feet then he I think he could win some big races.

I really like Master Tommytucker and was wondering if he makes another big jumping error could they go the stayers hurdle route with him. He's clearly got tons of ability currently 33s.

Thought the 7/1 with Skybet (Any race) was a bit of a joke and no price with WH?

He'll be 10 at the festival.

In my opinion 33/1 is way too short on it happening, my advice would be to try and get him added to Betfair Exchange and I would be amazed if you can't get well into triple figures for him... which obviously makes a lot more sense as a betting angle if you like him

Could have an each way squeak in the Ryanair too depending on his price

                          • If they can get him down to 145 (currently 148) he would have a good chance in the Kim Muir. Trouble is I can see Paul Nicholls eyeing a big pot for him somewhere throughout the season and scuppering that. He also needs to stop jumping like a pig.

                            • Did anyone else notice the Nigel Hawke trained Repitito in the last race at Chepstow this evening? He went off at a big price of 9/2. I couldn’t believe it when I saw him last on the race card but couldn’t get any money on before the off but got a bit on mid race. His last race was in the Triumph at the Festival where he was expected to run well and then he’s running in a Class 5, 2 mile flat race at Chepstow next time out. He won and I’m still annoyed I missed the price. I think we’ll see scenarios like this quite often over the summer while trainers and owners try to get some racing fitness & experience in their horses.

Another Triumph horse runs tomorrow in the 1.30pm at Tipperary. Recent Revelations of Gordon Elliot, currently 2/1. This is a hurdle race though but he should have a very good chance. I think I’ll put him in a roll over double with Abracadabras.

                              • I saw that race, he was absolutely steamed into before the off and very annoyingly I had Gold Arch who finished 2nd as the last leg of a nice paying Trixie, as soon as I saw the price collapse on it I knew I should have covered myself, still had small profit from the first 2 selections though.
