Nice write up SP - your thoughts on Monkfish are the same as mine and I'm happy to keep chipping away while he's a double figure price.

Scrap that. He's a winner on flat in France so doubt he's eligible?Last edited by Lobos; 14 June 2020, 09:16 AM.

Sir Gerhard is the one I’m most looking forward to.
Certainly with the right trainers.
True in almost every race

As for the Gold Cup, I like the two novices in Champ and Minella Indo. I have done a u-turn on Champ since this time last season. He's got a serious engine and if he can brush up on the jumping will be a serious force. As for Minella Indo if he had pinged the last in the RSA perhaps he would have won, and would therefore have been a little shorter for the Gold Cup. The mistake seemed to stop his momentum but he seemed to pick back up when Champ came past, suggesting he had more in the tank despite battling with Allaho for a long time.
Another I sensed was value in the aftermath of the festival was Delta Work, who was 40/1 for a while (only had a point on). If you watch the Gold Cup back, DW put in a really poor round of jumping. He never got into any sort of rhythm but still managed to get within 6 lengths of ABP. Perhaps with Davy or Jack on board next season he will jump better and maybe hit the frame. He did win 2 open grade 1's last season so the form is there and he'll still only be 8 next year.
I still feel ABP is the one to beat and if he remains at 6/1 before his first run next season I might have to add. TOTG interesting too, but perhaps inconsistent and coming back from injury. Therefore he could lose a race and the price could lengthen.

As already posted in my Diary.
Interesting to see Mogul appear in the betting for the Triumph Hurdle, so I couldn't resist 0.5 point to win at boosted odds of 57-1.
I dont want to start a conspiracy theory, as there probably isn't any substantive evidence yet, particularly since A P O'Brien is adamant that Mogul is still being aimed at the Derby.
But what if Mogul was to follow a similar path to Sir Erec and switch codes after running at Ascot. The transition of trainers from APO to J P O'Brien is something we have seen before and maybe it's also not a coincidence that Michael Tabor and Mrs John Magnier who part own Mogul also part owned Sir Erec and we know they are close friends with JP. Mcmanus. Could lightning strike twice ?
