I have gone with Aione for the NH chase too. But the one I like more is Escaria Ten. He looks a real stayer having won 2 times over 3 miles in novice hurdles keeping on strongly in both. He was beaten before that into third behind diol ker and monkfish then sold to the McNeal family for 100k. He was then outpaced in the Martin pipe. Gordon says he’ll be a much better chaser As he’s a big horse and could be Jamie codd’s mount in the NH chase as he won on him in a ptp when he said he was the best horse he had ridden for a long time in after the point. 33/1 with 365 looks big.

...I recall Escaria Ten was tipped up and the subject of some support before the Martin Pipe.

I like this. Codd's record in the NHC is unbelievable. Just praying the race doesn't get scrapped!

I would be shocked if they binned a race like the NH Chase with all its history and tradition and whilst I know times move on I think it would create too big a backlash from within.
I haven’t seen the betting recently but that terrible 140-145 nov ‘Cap chase on day one has to go given it’s a mirror image of the Marsh and Browns Advisory but for inferior horses/cheats.

Don’t dismiss the likes of Derek O’Connor, Paddy Mullins, Lisa O’Neill and one or two other talented amateurs...

i really hope you're right - i love the NHC. There was a question mark over it last season (2019) due to horse welfare but i believe all horses were OK after this years race (I could be wrong - but I don't remember hearing anything) so hopefully, with the new rules it will be OK - as you say its such an historic race.

Again, agree with you on that dodgy handicap on the first day - get it scrapped!

Could see Coko Beach making a very nice chaser. He could be the type for this race. Sure Elliot has a few to fire at the race.

He's got loads of possibles, that's the problem.

**Reckon The Bosses Oscar will either run in this or the Kim Muir - either race could be ideal for him, finished really well in the MP to be 5th beaten less than 4 lengths.

If he goes for either of those races I reckon Codd could be in the saddle.

Jamie rode him in his two points (3 and 2) and his only bumper race - a win over 2m at Thurles.

....the Bosses Oscar is 16-1 any race with H, and Monkfish is 8-1 any race. That double can be done as they are in different categories.

Codd not a certainty to ride for Elliott in the NH chase, he was pretty keen to jump on to Tizzards this year if hed run.
