Hi Eggs - that one is 50s with Sky, providing you can get on.

Even 50/1 is an horrific price 23 months out

        • But it’s the sort of bet that might look good on your account if you think you’re close to getting binned...

...just highlighting many bookmakers are either fearful of these specials or missing a trick in not exploiting them to the extent SkyBet do.

Ladbrokes with just 2 ‘specials’, lots of firms with none.

            • Does anyone know anything about the expensive purchases Henrietta Knight made at the Cheltenham sales earlier in the year for owners? Names of horses and whose training them??

The one I’m most interested in for next season is Keskonrisk who will be trained by Joseph O’Brien. He’s already won a bumper impressively and is a half brother to Grand Sancy but from a better sire in my opinion. Looks a Supreme horse to me.

                • Gallyhill was the big purchase at the sales.

Can’t remember who it was going into training with.

Sure I read somewhere it was Hendo.

The pedigree isn't worth 400,000 and the point form wasn't franked. There must have been plenty of horses that won points just as easily, quite possibly against better opposition.
This will be a futile exercise as you could say the same about the pedigree of almost all the expensive PtP recruits. I’m a big fan of Jeremy as a sire and he did very well with his limited numbers. The dam has a flat pedigree but being by Authorized there is some NH substance to her side.

However, this is not flat racing where pedigree counts for everything. You have to factor in the performance and ultimately the price. Most top notch PtP are well known before they race and then jockeys and trainers insight generates the necessary sales price. I don’t think anyone is going to piss away Ł400K without believing he’s of high quality, even if they do have large resources.

Said ferry hollow had plenty of speed. And “Ferny hollow and “appreciate it” will be prominent in the betting for the supreme and Ballymore.

Novice hurdlers going chasing - most excited about riding next season was monkfish, and also excited about the big getaway over a fence.
