Just in case anyone is tempted to do that, you'd be still better off halving your stake and putting it on as each double.

    As they're both over 200/1

    • My biggest issue with that double is that the Ballymore looks right for them both, so for it have a chance one has to go Supreme or Potato and that may not suit...

        I'd concur with that too

....was thinking of it more as insurance as opposed to an outright option.

If you think Ferny (Supreme) Ballyadam (Ballymore) is the way to go, back it @ odds available, with a small saver on the ‘any race’ double. It could boost your winnings or give you a bit of insurance, not forgetting Ballyadam is also early favourite for the Albert Bartlett.

          • .....lots in the ‘feedback’ thread mentioning Allart for next year, would be good to get it priced up with Hills in their any race market, only 14s with Sky.

...Allart miraculously appeared in the Hills ‘any race’ market, 22-1 with boost.

              • a couple of forgotten ones early in the rsa market are commander of fleet and bright forecast, both available at 50's. COF is well overpriced unless I've missed something

Commander Of Fleet missed the entire season so it's understandable that he's forgotten.
I'd want to hear confirmation he's back in training at least before backing him....and I would back him at 50/1 upon hearing that.

Bright Forecast seems to be priced about right. He wasn't G1 winning class over hurdles and the price of 50/1 factors that in. You're hoping he improves for a fence, which from memory connections have always said (but all connections say hat about all horses it seems)

He's also a Ben Pauling horse and I'm not even sure I'd back Ben Pauling to have a festival winner at 50/1
I'm going to request that actually, just to see how short they make it (and I would back it at 50/1 just in case I was made to look silly as he'll definitely have at least 1 runner at sub 50/1 so it's value regardless haha)

I’d add Dickie Diver at 66/1 for the RSA to that list too. Same applies as COF regarding wellbeing.

...karma, as I’ve just posted Ben Pauling quotes in the other thread, I’m now going to have to do the Bright Forecast (RSA)/Global Citizen (Champion Chase) double!!

I like these 2 horses based off them being placed at last year's festival where Champ and Minella Indo were in front of them. That is not to say they will progress in the same way as them(City Island didn't) but they will face novices next year whilst being a year older.
I've already backed Bright Forecast at 50s. Ben Pauling claims he is the best chaser he has ever had and that he is an exceptional jumper. He was only five(Champ was 7) when he came 3rd in the Ballymore and was the most inexperienced in the field(and ran like it too) so I think there is massive improvement to come. The RSA will be his race and Pauling does have success at Cheltenham. I think a lot of us would have loved a Kildisart win this year but missed out by a neck!
I would back COF too once there is more news on his wellbeing. Obviously the price of these 2 reflects the time they have been off and they may not even take to fences but I'm happy to take a punt at small stakes for now.

Who would be the best chaser Ben Pauling has ever had so far? Kildisart?

I hate that line from trainers, as if it means anything at all.

Nothing wrong with 50/1 pokes in general, just seems very early when the target isn't certain (trainer mentioned two distances) and the trainer doesn't have the credentials to back up the claims. His best ever horse so far hasn't been good enough to win at the festival (Barters Hill?) so while I'm not knocking a 50/1 bet, I am just pointing out that just because something is a big price doesn't mean it's value.
