Big lesson for me is to not be so overly influenced by the exchange. I was lucky I couldn’t cash Samcro as would have done the same with him when he started going for a walk in Feb I think

I'm still learning this Ante-Post thing.....but the luck in not cashing out is something i want to think through more.......had AP bets on Samcro, Shiskin and Ferny Hollow and could not cash out any....Shiskin was 35-1

Maybe something in sticking with the horses? No doubt the ability of this forum to fin the right ones early

Not sure if anyone has done the analysis ?

    • I think the any race market is one thats worked really well for me last few years, its absolutely excruciating taking a lower price any race when your convinced you know where the horse will turn up, but last year it saved me many headaches and points.
Only bet ive had is Monkfish for 2021 hes 12/1 for the RSA but 10/1 any race, I even had to stop myself taking the 12/1!!! (glad i did having read those comments by WPM on here about him possibly going stayers).
I suppose you learn who to listen to, Emmet Kennedy is certainly not one, all hes interested in is asking guests to back up his antepost bets hes had and do that painful impression of Nicky Henderson, you can even feel the guests squirming at it.
In the defence of the FFP I think Jayne Mangan and Rory are worth listening to.

His bumper win was jaw droppingly (is that even a word) good!
I haven't watched it back yet, but I don't remember my jaw dropping

They'll do some schooling races and I'm sure we'll have the winner leaked on here by the time we get to November

Glad you said that billymag I cant stand the man! Find it really insulting when he mimmicks Nicky Henderson. There is another one on youtube i cant stand, not saying his name on here. He said in a preview ah I cant have Shishkin, shoot him! Prick doesnt realise what he says sometimes.

Anyway back on track with racing. There are plenty out there in the any race markets and an added bones is Hills are letting you add them in multiples! To a point that is.

In Emmit’s defence......... he doesn’t claim to be a tipster. I personally think the show is a great listen and is full of laughs. As for listening to people for tips ....... don’t waste your time. These people are being paid to give you tips and they’re opinions. If everything they put up went on to win they certainly wouldn’t be on these shows, they’d be pro punters. Just your eye and trust your gut, that way there’s nobody to blame but yourself if you lose.

            • Not sure where it was now but know there was some recent conversations about sectionals so thought I’d share a post by Hugh Taylor today on the subject which I found quite interesting:

There was a link put up to sectionals in the Bumper thread RC.
The writer (whose name escapes me) suggesting the first two could be a bit special...

I haven't read any of Mullins' comments but Ricci couldn't have provided more of a steer that the horse is a chaser. Is Willie playing games again? I will take the owners word that at his age they are not going to waste a year running over hurdles - realistically 7/8 is a year too late for going over fences.

                    • Can I ask a favour please, could someone get king Roland priced up any race somewhere?

I know there will be a bit of risk backing him with the injury he has had but I’m hoping the price will reflect that. I think this horse could be a beast. The fact he wasn’t beaten far at Cheltenham with an injury, how gutted Harry fry was afterwards shows how high a regard he holds this horse.

                      Hoping 20/1+

Managed to find the the video of the Mullins interview on Monkfish and imo they are definitely looking at chasing with him. The stayers comment is jokey/tongue in cheek.

                        • Hi everyone,

I've caught up on the discussion here, and would love to get some second opinions on some horses I'm keeping my eye on for next year.

So far, I have put money on Saint Roi - Champion Hurdle (33/1), which is probably the antepost bet I would most recommend doing right now. I also have some on Elixir D'Ainay - Arkle (50/1), and a small amount on Topofthegame - Gold Cup (33/1) (not being too risky in case he isn't the horse he once was).

Fakir D'Oudairies is a bit of a wildcard, which thanks to nortonscoin200's comment on page 15 of this thread I'll be paying close attention to. Two others I like in the current market are Uhtred - Supreme (40/1) and The Big Getaway - RSA (25/1), but I'm not going to stake anything on them just yet.

So, if you have any opinions or insight into which race you think the following horse's targets will be, then do let me know:
                          Easywork
                          Simply The Betts
                          Battleoverdoyen
                          Allart

                          Thanks.

                            Thanks.
I think the Ballymore fell apart behind the winner. The Big Getaway looks to have a fair bit more scope than Easywork.

Simply The Betts has plenty of scope but having had the run of the race didn't have that much in hand over a mare who is top class at finishing second. He is out of handicaps and probably needs to find plenty to be competitive.

Battleoverdoyen has had two runs of little promise at Cheltenham and looks fragile. Gigginstown will probably try and give him some confidence at a lower level but it seems unlikely he will ever be much value in those sort of races.

Allart was promising in the Supreme but he is going to have to find plenty if he is going to be mixing it with those who finished in front of him.
