  • Get a feeling they made a f*** up on the offer.... at a guess it should be for the upcoming flat races but have sent the wrong info out on email. (And customer Support being clueless confirming Chelt is included)

The fact they have taken down all markets today too & I found this page (which I'm guessing is the actual offer) - https://support.skybet.com/s/article...&refType=topic

Interesting how this one plays out...

I'll be keeping an eye on their prices related to Gordon/Willie as I do with PP/Betfair already.
Correct CoD, the merger/takeover was completed a few weeks ago.
      I fully expect account reviews...

Surely they can’t collate information on people across different bookies regardless of them being owned by the same parent company. There still considered separate trading identities so would have thought it would be a breach of Data protection. Unfortunately saying that, I could still see it happening as we would have no proof thats what there doing.

This already happens in my opinion.

This is why they actively take over other bookmakers.
Years ago B365 were trying to buy Vodafone so they could monitor the movements of punters and identify duplicate/borrowed accounts through IP addresses.
They’ll do anything to get profitable punters, despicable companies most of them....

              • Any thoughts on Galvin? Can see 20/1 Any race with Hills (14s with PP) - both prices seem rather skinny this far out.

Still a novice with an official rating of 147. One for the Plate next year perhaps?

She was giving SR 4lbs and finished 5l back in fourth, running off a rating of 141.

Buttercup was absolutely cruising coming to the final flight and looked as likely to win as SR.

But she found little up the hill compared to SR.

Even so, the fact she got that close to SR either implies the form of the race is not that hot or that Buttercup ran out of her skin - and is one to think about in a handicap at the festival next year, maybe the Coral.

Here's a link to the race replay in case anyone wants to have a close look at Buttercup.

Buildmeupbuttercup was 11th in the mares novice hurdle last year - a length behind Epatante.

Anyone with any thoughts on how to square backing Saint Roi for the Champion with the fact Buttercup was going equally well up to the last 100 yards or so?
I think with Saint Roi it just comes down to how much you believe he’s going to improve as he certainly had plenty left in the tank. He did put 5 lengths between himself and buttercup from jumping the last and was still going away at the line.

On a side note, what is the main factor people look at when judging how much they think a horse will improve? Age, starts/experience, form or other?

Looking a few potential churdle horses:

                  Epatante 6yo OR:162 6 hurdle starts

                  Abacadabras 6yo OR:158 5 hurdle starts

                  Goshen 4yo OR:158 4 hurdle starts

Saint Roi 5yo OR: 149 4 hurdle starts

                  Marie’s Rock 5yo OR:144 2 hurdle starts

You’d expect all the above to still be on an upward curve but with the mares allowance I do think it’s very hard to look past Epatante. If say she comes on just 2lbs next year it would mean you’re looking for around 13lbs improvement from Aba and Goshen. I’m not ruling it out but the fact Abacadabras is the same age as Epatante and had just the 1 less start over hurdles, I can’t see him getting the better of her. Goshen clearly has age on his side.

I really don’t have a strong opinion on Saint Roi other than he was visually impressive from the last in the county and had plenty in hand. I’ll be waiting to see what he does on his next start though. I just wonder if he’s got too much to find with Epatante.

I think Marie’s Rock is an interesting contender because of her OR plus the mares allowance puts her in the mix. Also the fact she’s only had 2 starts over hurdles makes her appealing as there is surely more to come. Not sure how much I trust that OR though as her RPR is 136. Hendo said she’d be back for next season, any updates? She interests me as an EW play at 50s. What do people make of her?

I like marias rock, could she end up the country hurdle ? It is a shame she missed out on the mares novice this year because I like her for that. Could anyone see her in a handicap next year? As back from injury she could easily just have a warm up run (and place) which would be easily justified and then bolt up in a handicap 2mile ?

                    • I've had a small bit on Marie's Rock at 50s think it's big enough to take a risk.. She looks an out and out 2 Miler to me so don't see her going for the Mares Hurdle. Didn't think about handicaps before but there's a chance she could go that route it'll all depend what she does first start next season I guess.

She has a good plot job profile the more I think about it, does henderson send many to the county? I would be interested to follow that as a possible route.

Prior to this years renewal he was 34R-0W-5P for the last 10 years. 3 runners this year of which (Elusive Belle) in 5th was his highest finisher. Make of that what you will.

I agree with that. From the way people were talking about her last year I would suggest they may be looking higher than handicaps. After the Taunton run last time out everyone was tipping her. I think she would have had to be a really, really good Mare to have beaten Concertista however. But I think 50s is decent, you can get 55 on the exchange. The good thing is you know Hendo is not averse to running loads in a Champion Hurdle, 4 last year, 3 the year before.
