Cheers for the heads up, thats a bit embarrassing. Did he make any mention to his previous statement and apologies/acknowledge the change of stance. With these things we all can change our minds or make mistakes, the lack of credibility comes when they ignore the fact.

He said the whole idea was to get the bookmakers to row in and get a few people to back him for it so he could get 33’s for the Arkle ‘which didn’t work’. Not sure how much was tongue and cheek or not
All the same not great publicity for their YouTube channel
Can see it from about 35:20s on here

Anyway lost 20% of value but with 20s still widely available (a price that practically assumes he would have finished close in the Supreme) happy to wait before getting back involved.Last edited by Rhinestone_Cowboy; 11 May 2020, 07:52 AM.

Won't do much for credibility of a Youtube channel and show they are trying to get up and running thats for sure.
Hard to know how serious he is being on his reasoning but the fact if he was not being genuine when implying he had inside knowledge its fairly shocking as can/did influence a lot of people ; goes against the whole point of these channels if he working an angle which impacts punters.
Comes across very poorly anyway.

Just because Piers Morgan fronts a nationwide tv show and has all the big, bold, brash opinions and means about how he’d sort out our current pandemic, doesn’t mean he knows more than any of the scientists, immunologists that you’ll never hear of in your lifetime that will eventually find ‘the cure’.

https://youtu.be/0L1p2-6ynbg Here’s the clip from three weeks ago at around 37:50 mins.
I watch his podcasts on the finishing line as they have some decent views but he certainly is abit of a bull I’m a china shop when it comes to his opinions and he makes out like he knows stuff but he’s just very opinionated.
Hope this helps and I’ve also commented on the YouTube video for clarity on this peculiar contradicting commentLast edited by 7barrows; 11 May 2020, 09:09 AM.

Interesting always to learn from different ‘readers’ on here about who they feel they ‘trust’ when it comes to betting angles and advice. I always find Dave Jennings and Gav Lynch’s “Upping the Ante” the most informative, and from 2 guys who personally, I believe in their knowledge and instinct. I noted a few people a few weeks ago suggested that after 18 weeks of episodes, the duo only came out with a +2.2 points difference. Sometimes I tend not to take that into consideration - lots of people lost good money on certainties like Paisley P, Benie & Tiger Roll. The fact they can suggest Carefully Selected at 25’s in October, and A Plus Tard at 16’s and get them down to evens and 9/4 for their races is worth noting.
I always maintain that out of 28 festival races, each of us will likely win 7 to 8 - it’s the price we take, when we take it, and the amount we stake on those winning selections that make the difference (sometimes with three ‘0’s’ on the end) on how well we do each March.
When asked a day before this year’s festival who were the 3 horses that will likely do very well at next years festival (without any prior knowledge of forthcoming results hours later), Gav Lynch said Bob Olinger likely for the Ballymore, Envoi Allen for the Marsh (‘Not the RSA?’ Jennings asked him.....’No, think he’ll go for the Marsh’) & Shishkin the winner of the Arkle 2021 despite not even knowing how he’d run in the Supreme - and that’s the kind of positive info I am looking for. It’s just opinion, and none of those horses might win, but it’s the kind of statements I’m looking for from people I believe are more in the know than I am.
I’d take Jennings & Lynch over Halligan absolutely any time.

Just ignore the tool in future, don’t watch his YouTube videos and don’t report anything he’s said. Putting people away and costing people money to attempt some personal gain is quite pathetic and whoever he is (I’ve never even heard of him tbh) has lost any credibility he may have had. Ignore and move on don’t give him any more publicity.

If you have subscribed to any of their channels then I'd suggest you hit the 'unsubscribe' button sharpish as that's the only way idiots like this will learn. I'd never heard of them before but they had an interview with Patrick Mullins a few weeks back that was posted on here. Even during that video they'd mispronounced horses, done very little research and lacked knowledge. On top of that, if he has been putting his viewers away with misinformation then he needs a kick in the bollox too.
Unfortunately YouTube and social media can be both a blessing and a curse for Horse Racing.
