I had to verify my account for some reason that I can't recall.
Yep - I'm guessing it's that too.
But no way of getting in touch with them.
Even tried ringing the telephone betting team bu the 08 number is blocked on my phone contract (wife deals with this)
They've randomly closed my account and have not emailed me with an explanation.
The contact information is like a Maze and keep bringing me back to Log-in then states account closed.
I'm not on twitter or facebook and cannot message as need to be logged in.
No phone numbers or emails anywhere on site.
Have tried googling an email address but the first two I found bounced back.
Money in the account also - which makes it more annoying.
They don't have an email address apparently
You need to go on as a visitor and use the chat function...

Thanks fella's.
The magic link Kev posted brought up the chat thingy.
Destiny ????? (her name)
is currently helping and has asked me to wait 15 minutes ?
fuck's sake
I hope you have the patience of a saint Q , I was trying to sort out stuff.
recently with a high street bookie , and it took 4 hour's.
most of it on hold !!!!.,.
But i'm sure you'll be fine
I left £200 in after the virus scare, as I wanted to reduce balances across all my accounts.
Not logged onto betfair since March.
Until today, was going to just look at the Gold cup market on exchange.
Obviously account had been closed.
Once they reopened the account.
They asked me to create a new username (instead of email address) & add the 2 step authenticator (google authenticator on iphone)
I was sure I'd left money in but the balance was zero.
After looking at my bet history, a bet was made on belarus football on exchange.
I'm guessing (the robbers) they were using a back and lay method with a genuine account vs mine.
But the first bet they made of £200 lost.
They are going to contact me in 48 hours with regards a refund/explanation.
Bit shit that they knew this had been hacked on 3rd April and never once contacted me. I had to find out by attempting logging in to my account today.
Not impressed.
But I would suggest that anyone who has not updated their security does so ASAP.
Check your card details Q, I always thought the only way anyone could make it worth their while hacking an account was to insert new bank details and withdraw funds.
If your back/lay theory is correct betfair should be able to track who matched ‘your’ bet.
I can’t tell you how much I had in my fair account pre virus but a mate told me a story about account hackers and he is now constantly doing debit/credit on the account so he doesn’t have a big balance, so pleased I followed....
Just been on and updated my security settings after hearing about this. When I opened the security settings it showed all the times I'd logged in the last week. There were 3 failed attempts from Armenia Mexico and Italy so I'm glad I went on to make it more secure. Hope you get your money back as well Q.
I had the same happen back in 2017 - some random bets were made on basketball exchange markets. Thankfully refunded but as per T&Cs they are not obligated to do so (see email I received below). I think my Outlook account may have been hacked, since I changed to Gmail I've not had any issue.
