I've caught up on the discussion here, and would love to get some second opinions on some horses I'm keeping my eye on for next year.
So far, I have put money on Saint Roi - Champion Hurdle (33/1), which is probably the antepost bet I would most recommend doing right now. I also have some on Elixir D'Ainay - Arkle (50/1), and a small amount on Topofthegame - Gold Cup (33/1) (not being too risky in case he isn't the horse he once was).
Fakir D'Oudairies is a bit of a wildcard, which thanks to nortonscoin200's comment on page 15 of this thread I'll be paying close attention to. Two others I like in the current market are Uhtred - Supreme (40/1) and The Big Getaway - RSA (25/1), but I'm not going to stake anything on them just yet.
So, if you have any opinions or insight into which race you think the following horse's targets will be, then do let me know:
Easywork
Simply The Betts
Battleoverdoyen
Allart
Thanks.
Simply The Betts overtook Benie this year as my favourite horse in training.
He reminds me a bit of Ridersonthestorm as a lively outsider for the Ryanair next year after showing he’s too good for handicaps.
Re the discussion about Easywork, I wouldn't write that one off yet as if he can settle better in my opinion there is room for improvement. It was interesting to read the race comments and RBs assessment at the end.
Race Comments for Easywork:
Lengthy; took strong hold, chased leaders, went 2nd approaching 4th, ridden between last 2, challenging approaching last, hung right run-in, outpaced and no chance with winner final 100yds (jockey said gelding ran too freely)
Double for @gelliott_racing @DownpatrickRace brought up by Ballyadam - "The ground was too soft in Navan and he was a bit free, but he's a good horse." @CoddJJ meanwhile - "He could be the best I've ever ridden."
Bold statement considering he was riding Envoi Allen last season.
Also - Coming in after the bumper and Codd tells Elliott, ‘this is the best horse that will ever run around Downpatrick anyway.’ Punchestown Champion bumper could be next. #Ballyadam https://t.co/VDPK3hxZTJ
Potentially talented horse but given he’s not made an appearance since 2018, has yet to even run in a bumper and will be 7 at the next festival, I’d be surprised if he’s their main hope.

Ballyadam nearly cost as much as Envoi Allen. Will be very interesting to see how he fairs against the likes of Ferny Hollow, Appreciate It, and Gigginstown's selections for the race at Punchestown. The result should start to paint the picture of next season's novice hurdlers.

....plenty of blue on Oddschecker for the Festival. Betting suggests more Ballymore than Supreme.

Theres been plenty of smoke signals about Ballyadam before based on sparkling workouts, and people like Noel Meade and Jane Mangan thinking they witnessed a special horse in a racecourse gallop.
Now he has shown ability on the track, it may be wise not to dismiss him too readily.

Yes but Jane enthused just as much after Ferny Hollows win at Cheltenham. , It would be good to establish her pecking order between FH, Appreciate It and Ballyadam. Based on what we have seen to date, which of hese three looks as though they might be the best of the trio at jumping a Hurdle.

To be fair he showed plenty of ability on debut travelling stronger than anything but unable to quicken un deep ground, they said today was his ground and even though he may have only beaten pigs there is obvious ability.
The age old dilemma is what his target would be but we shouldn’t forget that it looks a vintage crop of bumper horses this year so next seasons novice ranks could/should also be above average...
Bit of chatter on here and Kev’s 21 diary as to where Ballyadam might go. It’s too early to get deep and meaningful here but I would suggest that this is one of the more straight forward conundrums - it’s where Ferny Hollow doesn’t!
Cheveley have a small but very powerful string of horses. Can’t see them racing 2 of their best prospects against each other.
To my eye it’s Ferny Supreme (he’ll risk pulling in any race over further) and therefore Ballyadam goes Ballymore. At least that’s my view with the best part of a year to go!
389/1 related double with Skybet for those who get a free bet credit this morning.. which I sadly do not!
Course Malone Road may complicate matters but I think we need to see him back on a racecourse.
Think that putting Ferny hollow in the needs two miles coz he pulls too much is a dangerous assumption, clearly learning how to race now and I wouldnt putting as much stock in that as others. Hes a young horse thats learning his job.

I'd recommend covering the alternative related double, even if it's at half stake.
