Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • On course betting shop firm

Sorry to start a thread regarding this but couldn’t find an appropriate existing thread to ask the question?

Who is the on course betting shop firm now at Cheltenham? I remember it changed last year but can’t remember who to. Got a feeling it was an in-house thing but can’t remember.

    Thanks in advance

There are two William Hill's (one by the Arkle bar the other up the steps opposite grandstand)

Used to be a Corals in the Centaur, but that was a few years ago...

        Cheers folks

I remember it was Betfred for a while then changed last year. Only reason I ask is we do a group bet and pick horses in the morning in town but have to get them on quick when we get in so like to have them pre written. I’ll go and get som William Hill slips then

Whoever it was last year, they were absolutely hopeless. I queued 25 minutes to our a placepot on.

Plenty of Tote kiosks for pool betting FM.

Also, not sure if people have seen this, the Tote ate applying their SP guarantee throughout the festival, so the Tote win will match of better the industry SP of all winners.
No doubt they’ll rape punters on the place market but the win guarantee is a big plus, no more 5/1 winners returning £3.60...

There is also a William Hill at the far end (from the entrance opposite Arkle bar) in Vesty bar.

I once over herad somebody saying that you could BET on the internet? They seemed to have this mystical device though in their hand that let them do it.

                  hahahahaha

There is something about looking a bookmaker in the eye as he hands you hundreds of pounds that is just fantastic though

                      Cash?

What do you do with cash though?

                      Do shops still accept that?
I thought shops were online now too? My mistake

I didn't realise I was sharing this forum with actual dinosaurs

                        Agreed.

We quite often will put a group bet on prior to heading to the course at a bookies we know we could collect at on course. Pays for the days beers if it rolls in!

Honestly, I don't remember the last time I held cash.

You're all living in the past.

I bet you enjoy a horse and cart to the course too?

Agree with the comments here - always bet with cash at the race course as you can’t beat the feeling of picking up your winners but is rather annoying having to then go to the back to get rid of it.
