She was plotted for the Kim Muir last season but I can see them swerving Cheltenham this season with the focus on April…
Totally agree. If they are serious about the GN then they'll skip Cheltenham. Go there and it'll take the edge off her.

5/10 last Grand National Winners ran at the Festival.
I think it's probably around 10/20 as well.

And shit loads of placed horses.

          100% of Gordon's winners did.
And 100% of his placed horses also.

Tips it over the edge a bit.

Great stat and comeback..........still not convinced me to back her though as she's a mud lover.

              Not a massive fan myself.
              But she has an engine.
The Kim Muir was on gd to sft, but obviously over a lot further.
If she gets a little more consistent with her jumping then she would have a chance in this if she doesn't get outpaced as she would be staying on best.

The National would be a stretch for her IMO, unless she gets a lot better at jumping.
She looks like the fences piss her off and she just wants to gallop. But she seemed better today which is why I backed her. As a saver mainly.

De Bromhead on ITV re: Gin On Lime now.

'She jumped right - we always thought she was better left handed. We came here with a view to looking at the Mares Chase, but she wasn't herself and maybe it was a run too many. It's great that she won, but she'll have a break now.'

That's the jist of what I got anyway. I sensed a little bit of hesitation as to whether they'd come for the Mares - did anyone else?

Henry just said there on ITV that this could have been a race too much for Gin on Lime as 'she's been going all summer'. That was her 6th race since May.

Seemed to me the Mares Chase is still the plan, he was maybe giving excuses as why she didn't show him to be as good as she normally is today. Looks like they will put her away for the winter now anyway, she's had a busy few months up until today.

….yep, it was an inconclusive statement. I’d be more certain the Arkle isn’t on the agenda.

Plenty of blue on Oddschecker for GoL, looks a best priced 14-1 for Mares Chase.

                      • He said on Racing TV a break was always the plan after this and we will bring her back for the Spring

I agree. I think beforehand The Mares Chase was absolutely the plan but for me that was one of her poorest performances over fences. She is usually very enthusiastic throughout the race and appears to love jumping fences. Today was different. She looked as though she wasn't really relishing the course and jumped markedly out to the right on occasions.
I think they will definitely re-evaluate after that.

I'm hoping she was just a bit over the top, and spooked by her error at the second. A nice long break now and she can go again in the Spring. It's definitely not the performance I was hoping for regardless of what happens come March though!

                            • Was the horse's first time at Cheltenham, now has course experience albeit in a weird race. Should be better for it.

Doesn't have to be foot perfect in November. Henry already proven he can get horses to peak for the festival.

Have seen her jump much better before but unless she's hurt, which doesn't appear to be the case, she deserves a chance to line up in the mares chase where she'll need to do better to beat likes of Elimay

                              • Her jumping to the right is a cause for concern, as is the fact that she fell when joined by My Drogo and couldn't jump out to the right.
Not 'cash out' concern, yet, but definitely 'I've invested enough' concern, just now.
Let's hope there's no injury found.
