Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Coleman on twitter suggesting travelling might be the explanation for Elimays poor run today

    • That was a good opener for Concertista. Generally jumped ok with a couple of mistakes but can see the step up suiting her more tempo wise.

      • Impressed with that

        • Gets low at her Fences but a very good performance first time out in a G2 against a horse like Magic Daze who is fit and on a role.

Jumps slightly left as well which isn't a bad thing for Cheltenham and is bound to improve for that

          • Bit of a scruffy jumper and going left at some fences but a solid enough start..

            • An ok win from Concertista but nothing more than that. A fit and well Elimay would have her measure imo.

              • Comfortably on that showing lobos

Surprised she's been cut so much

riviere detel beat Jeremy's flame by 11 lengths very easily

I wasn't impressed personally but we don't know how ready she was, as usual next time will be more informative

                • Concertista and jeremys flame ran off levels today, Riviere got 9lbs from jermeys flame.

concertista was making her season debut while jermeys flame was racefit and on her 3rd race of the season. Riviere and jermeys both were having their first race of season when they met (jermeys flame actually having her first race in 10.5months).

Not sure beating JF by a narrower margin today is an entirely fair stick to beat Concertista with.

Riviere gets the weight for a reason though so cant really analyse it that way

Riviere is only a 4yo, comparing her to a three time Festival placed/winner via Jeremy’s Flame she comes out of it really well given her age and experience.

Of course Riviere will lose her 4yo allowance by March but, 3months in her young life, to improve, and strengthen, could be worth more to her than it would be for an average 6yo or 7yo.

She currently is a player in both the Mares Chase market and the Arkle market.

Her sure gets plenty of mid-trip or 3M types, so she may not only be a 2M mare this season.

How she performs next time out, maybe in a Grade 1 Novice Chase over 2M, should tell connections whether winning the Arkle is achievable for her this season, or whether to give the Mares Chase a go.

                      • The Mares novice and the Energumene race were run jn near identical times. I'm not sure does that mean that these are 3 fantastic mares or that Enegumenes run wasn't as good as a lot of judges are making out.

Energumene and notebook went off like the clappers didn't they?

Not an efficient way to race

And fast times come from running efficiently

I think the last circuit of the Mares race was 1 sec quicker than Energumene so not a whole lot in it if that's correct

                              Yep

Energumene's race looked like a pace dustup early and that never brings a fast time.

He did very well to turn Notebook to mush and still stay well ahead of those not chasing the pace.

The Mares Chase they were always pretty tight as a group and the race finished in a heap.

I'm sure theres better phrasing used in cycling terms, but that was the equivalent of two crazy guys cycling too hard, but one was able to overcome that adversity.

                              • The Mares Chase is shaping up to be a very competitive race especially after the weekends action. It's looking a lot harder to call now.
