Connections of Conflated are “50-50” as to whether the Irish Gold Cup winner goes for the Ryanair Chase or the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup.

This statement came after they had appeared to confirm the Ryanair in an earlier message an hour earlier

Someone (O'Leary) decided to make the additional statement. and to my untrained eye it was because Jack asked permission to ride Minella Indo.

Fingers crossed things conspire and he still gets to ride.
I reckon Gordon is playing the old double bluff. He wants to go Gold Cup so the OLearys, as is their wont, say Ryanair. A couple of days later Gordon admits "defeat" and says he going to Ryanair and lo and behold the OLearys start considering the Gold Cup - genius!

    • Gigginstown contribute to the substantial retainer that Kennedy gets to be stable jockey. He rode Minella Indo last year because the stable had no runner. If MI connections had been patient there might have been a chance that Kennedy would have been made available when all decisions had been made although a Russell injury on the Wednesday or Thursday might have been an issue. Instead, they were pushy and got pushed back. He who pays the piper calls the tune.

Also worth mentioning that the retainer was almost certainly still being paid for all those weeks that the injured piper couldn't raise a tune.

      • Aye, feel the Indo team have rushed this a bit. Not like someone else would've snapped up Power is it. They could have kept him waiting around for a while yet.

        • Indo having Power on him is like he's giving a Mares allowance to all the other runners. He'll be a very good horse to go back to back.

          • Is Robbie power as bad as people are making out?

Perfectly good jockey in my eyes

Is he as good as Jack probably not

But it's not like they've jocked up David maxwell if indo is the best horse on the day id be confident enough that Robbie power will get him over the line in front.

No, he's not. He's a great jockey and a Gold Cup winner to boot. His ride on Sizing John was superb.

He was fantastic the whole time he rode for Jessie.

You make it sound like they are saints and not employers, with contracts and terms in place.

I'll not go full Billy Bragg though

To be fair, for all I know they voluntarily pay people when they're off work - Got a reputation for that in their other businesses

                          • I agree with chantry house, was favourite for the king George only months ago and ran a shocker, I just don’t think kempton suited him that day , the price is becoming a great ew shot with the places on offer . I Still think galvin will win but chantry house represents value .

Maybe one to do in running?

He looked completely disinterested last time despite still winning
