Gordon has said there is only one Gold Cup and he's leaning that way.
That they'll discuss it....
I think Jack not having a ride will be a big factor though now.
Feck the Ryanair.
Gigginstown & Elliot fucking poor Jack IMO.
Dithering about has cost him the Minella Indo ride.
Henry said last night that he was still in the frame but Robbie may also ride. Sounded very much like he would have jocked Jack up if he could.
Indo's connections obviously lost patience.

Yeah, either that.... or Jack's told them he's riding Conflated.... and that news will come out soon....?
That's the hope anyway.
I'm annoyed on Jack's behalf. I've taken it personally
If that's true then the brothers are spit roasting poor Jack.
Hardly.
Conflated ran the race of his life last time out with Davy on board for the first time in his 10 chase starts.
He's clearly the second best horse in the Ryanair which they sponsor and the race will be run to suit.
Allaho will set out to make it and Davy can sit in and pounce - if Conflated is good enough.
I seriously think he could give Allaho a run for his money and second place is certainly within his reach.
The betting in the Gold Cup suggests Conflated is joint 6th best.
Far less likely to make the frame in the GC than the Ryanair.
So knock the O'Learys all you want but imo they've given Conflated the best chance of a Festival win - and snapped up the jockey who did so well on him last time.
Jack is a great jockey and it's always great to see he's in the saddle when you back one.
But this season I'd say Davy has perhaps ridden better than anyone - and his tactical acumen at Cheltenham is matched only by Ruby and BJ in recent times, I'd say.
Yes, it's really tough on Jack if he ends up without a ride in the Gold Cup but surely you can't blame the O'Learys.
It was known yesterday that Davy was going to ride Conflated in the Ryanair - that's 8 days before the Gold Cup.
So if Henry and Robcour want Jack to ride Minello Indo they still have plenty of time to sort it.
But that would mean jocking off Robcour's own jockey - I'm sure Puppy would love that.
Were Robcour ever going to do that? I don't think so.
To be crystal clear, I've absolutely no interest in defending the O'Learys - they're plenty big enough to look after themselves.
But if we're going to make a cheap shot at an easy target surely the evidence has to stack up better than this.
Leaving him without a ride in either grade 1 is shafting him IMO.
Henry pretty much stated last night on a preview that they wanted Jack, but Robbie may ride.

A Young jockey who rode a brilliant race to win the Gold cup for the owners, and because Gigginstown and Elliot can't make a decision he's lost the chance to retain the Cup.
That's not a cheap shot, and they are not easy targets.
They are selfish and arrogant.
Had he been able to commit to the owners of Minella he'd have got the ride 100%.
But the Knob heads obviously would not let him.
C**ts IMO.
FWIW, I have no interest betting wise and all the reasoning behind Davy riding Conflated in the Ryanair, is fine but irrelevant.

Did the owners want Jack on MI in the Down Royal race but Elliott and/or O'Leary put their foot down and insisted he had to ride Delta Work? I remember at the time I thought it was poor form and they've shafted him further by making him lose the ride in the GC and letting him sit in the locker room.

Yeah they did.
Someone tried to make the decision on Conflated yesterday as it appears Indo's owners needed an answer.
But then O'Leary came out with this statement. Which probably torpedoed any hope Jack had.
Connections of Conflated are “50-50” as to whether the Irish Gold Cup winner goes for the Ryanair Chase or the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup.
This statement came after they had appeared to confirm the Ryanair in an earlier message an hour earlier
Gigginstown boss Eddie O'Leary and trainer Gordon Elliott have revealed Conflated is far more likely to tackle the Ryanair Chase than the Gold Cup at... Read More
Someone (O'Leary) decided to make the additional statement. and to my untrained eye it was because Jack asked permission to ride Minella Indo.
Fingers crossed things conspire and he still gets to ride.
So poor old Jack isn't guaranteed a ride in any of the Championship + Ryanair races? Only race Gordon has multiple entries in is the Churdle and assume Puppy will be on Teahupoo and Davy on Zanahiyr ...
Edit: Does Davy get first dibs on all of Gordon's rides? If so, unless Farouk and Fury Road both go to the RSA, it could be that Jack wouldn't have any Grade 1 rides for Gordon next week.

I doubt anyone gets first dibs.
I think Elliot decides primarily, in consultation with owners preference's or retained jockey arrangements.
It is a competitive sport though so if Elliot doesn't want one of his riders on a rival against Galvin (which you can understand), and Gigginstown want Russell on Conflated in the Ryanair, then it's tough one for Jack.
I personally think it's bad management though as Jack's not going to like it, and I'd prefer my employees to be motivated and have respect.
Jack probably knew this type of thing could happen when he agreed to be on the payroll though.
Just seems unkind to me.
Like I said.
Things could yet conspire differently.
