      I'm a backer and I'm pleased

He's proven he goes well fresh, tried and tested (novice handicap chase, NH Chase). No point changing things up and I'm glad they haven't.

Definitely - has had an ideal prep this season and Gordon can now get him spot on for March 18th.

        • The Big G just wins it doesn't he ??

All this talk about bloody Double D's over the last 2 days and the main man has been ignored. Disgusting.

Think recent trend been more for winners to have had more of a gap pre-race?

Minella was unusual as fell previously and needed run

Am a backer....but still think should be a better one on day

            • As a Galvin backer, I'm happy to hear this. Say what you want about A Plus Tard & Henry's form at Christmas but it was still some performance from Galvin (& Davy!) to win the Grade 1.

I like the call to miss Leopardstown. Don Cossack would've likely gone straight to the GC the year he won it had he stayed up in the King George at Kempton.

We know Galvin goes well fresh and fingers crossed Gordon gets him A1 for Gold Cup Day in March.

              • Mark Howard's put up Eklat De Rire for this in his Sporting Life column, hence a bit of blue for him today.

I suppose you just have to write off his run in the Hennessey? Form looks ok last year and early part this year save falling in the RSA.

I don't fancy him at all though unless it comes up heavy. Henry pretty much said as much after the Hennessey.

                      • I am on who backed Eklat de Rire for this a while back and whilst I'm neither writing him off or confident of his chances, I believe that he was pulled up in the Ladbrokes because he wasn't right.
