And the fact he thinks he could he a Grand National horse too.

I can see it being between the first two from this year again, I've also joined the Eklat de rire bandwagon at 66/1.

It was more because I think he though he had a better chance in the RSA the way it turned out. More prize money on offer for second in that than the NHC plus Monkfish wasn’t that impressive, so he hopes that ND could have at least challenged him

Yeah though he didn’t say specifically this year, but he’s that type of horse for a national at some point

Next Destination is 9 rising 10 already, after his time off injured - and rated to get into a Grand National already.

One who could end up going well under the radar for this race who I'm a big fan of: Fakir D'oudairies - 66/1

You'd have to think that a half decent Betfair chase run will ruin any national chances. I'd have had him down as an obvious Hennessy horse

Betfair Win or Decent performance = Gold Cup

Betfair bigger defeat = Grand National

Shhhhhh keep him quiet and keep the winnings all to ourselves

but yes I agree with you here. A nice price and I’m imagining this is his likely target.

was running a great race in the Punchestown Gold Cup for a long way as a 6YO.

Haha my response, to the very word

An Irish trained 6yo with plenty of Cheltenham experience that can run to the low 160's at that age over 3m at the second time of asking should not be 66/1 IMO. If he jumped fluently he'd be half that price and some IMO, but his jumping is definitely his weakness, but I'm sure they have been working on it.

Well there was me hoping I wouldn't have to rush to back Fakir but seems I'm late to join the queue for his fan club!

Does seem a big price when you take into account his festival form, granted he hasn't won one there yet but he's done all he can other then that. Was hoping to see any indications for Joseph's yard to see where he starts his season off but I guess their aren't too many 3m options in Ireland so would have to be Down Royal at end of month but there is a tendancy for him to come out in November so maybe the Durkan first then on to Savills for a third crack at 3m, especially as the Punches gold cup can probably be dismissed considering he had that tough Ryanair then Aintree so soon after.

Minella Indo, Galvin, Frodon, Samcro, Delta Work and Notebook have been entered in the 3m Ladbrokes Champion Steeplechase at Down Royal on October 30th.

Faugheen_Machine put up Imperial Aura for this a couple of months ago I think & I agreed with what he said then so backed at 50s, still same price & not sure if any targets have been mentioned yet? Pulled up in last year’s Ryanair after being run off his feet & bleeding. Cheltenham form apart from that reads 122 (one of which was over 3m) & runs in colours of people who know how to win this, seems a step up in trip would suit and is an 8yo so potential to improve again for it. Main negative being not Irish trained.

We should know if he's a candidate soon enough as they are planning on going to the Charlie Hall. He needs to get his career back in track but last two runs can be excused imo.
