was running a great race in the Punchestown Gold Cup for a long way as a 6YO.

An Irish trained 6yo with plenty of Cheltenham experience that can run to the low 160's at that age over 3m at the second time of asking should not be 66/1 IMO. If he jumped fluently he'd be half that price and some IMO, but his jumping is definitely his weakness, but I'm sure they have been working on it.

Well there was me hoping I wouldn't have to rush to back Fakir but seems I'm late to join the queue for his fan club!
Does seem a big price when you take into account his festival form, granted he hasn't won one there yet but he's done all he can other then that. Was hoping to see any indications for Joseph's yard to see where he starts his season off but I guess their aren't too many 3m options in Ireland so would have to be Down Royal at end of month but there is a tendancy for him to come out in November so maybe the Durkan first then on to Savills for a third crack at 3m, especially as the Punches gold cup can probably be dismissed considering he had that tough Ryanair then Aintree so soon after.

Faugheen_Machine put up Imperial Aura for this a couple of months ago I think & I agreed with what he said then so backed at 50s, still same price & not sure if any targets have been mentioned yet? Pulled up in last year’s Ryanair after being run off his feet & bleeding. Cheltenham form apart from that reads 122 (one of which was over 3m) & runs in colours of people who know how to win this, seems a step up in trip would suit and is an 8yo so potential to improve again for it. Main negative being not Irish trained.Last edited by MadeinJapan; 7 October 2021, 11:09 PM.
