    • Does anyone know how Hillcrest is? Really hoping it was just a case of him not enjoying the early pace.

Jockey post race said he felt brilliant etc before the race so I’d say likely Haydock taken too much out of him.

They must have went a decent pace as Classic Getaway was up there and then just couldn’t keep going second circuit.

            • That was so sad to see to Ginto, thought he was going to hose up and I genuinely felt upset. Almost feel bad thinking about the betting impact- was about to land a 2,500 pt Yankee from a .66pt bet, after turning down the cash out of 500 , I ended up with 166pt profit

              • A savage blow for bective stud today, such a disappointing Cheltenham where results haven't met expectation, after huge investment, for that to happen I thought was a real sad moment today, it is anytime a horse suffers injury but that....

Totally agree when you see it during the race and not just a faller where the cameras have moved on.

Heartbreaking anytime but to just see the horse go wrong is horrible!

They have spent an absolute bucket load but we need that and shows they are not just in for the money. It’s all about having the best and winning races. Do we think the odd horse will get sent to WPM or stick with Elliott?

They're the sponsors of Gordon's yard, so not for the near future

Didn’t realise that, assuming that was post disaster last year after Betfair left?

Fair play to them, but they’ll want rewards soon. So many ran well without getting theirs heads in front.

                      • The Morans stuck by Gordon whereas CPS jumped ship pretty damned quick. We need more people who have the means to fund the sport we all love. Like many, I thought they would be rewarded this year with either Queens Brook, American Mike, Ginto or Hollow Games. Alas it was not to be. I'm sure their time will come.

                        • Between the Morans and the Caldwells, Gordon has huge backing.

                          • First of all, the demise of Ginto was incredibly sad. It doesn't matter how talented a horse is but what happened to Ginto was hard to see and I feel so sorry for his connections and the stable staff going home without him. I do feel like he would have been fighting out the finish but that doesn't matter now.

Congrats to anyone on The Nice Guy. Looks a nice horse. Was an odd race where Stag Horn took them along for a mile or so and fell away, then Classic Getaway done the same and the race kind of fell apart.

Minella Cocooner ran well for so long. It will be interesting to see him in the 2m4 grade 1 novice at either Aintree or Punchestown as I think he could have another prize in him at that distance.
