  • Exciting novice hurdler Eric Bloodaxe could fly the flag for O'Brien in the opening Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle at next month's Dublin Racing Festival.

Eric Bloodaxe: created fine impression when winning at Limerick last month
    David Keane

Having been turned over by subsequent Grade 1 winner Ginto at Navan on his previous start, the Gigginstown-owned seven-year-old won convincingly in Grade 2 company at Limerick last month.

That effort sees him as short as 10-1, and no bigger than 16-1, for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

O'Brien said: "He could possibly head to Leopardstown, he has an option there, but that hasn't really been discussed yet. I'd imagine he'll go to Leopardstown or else head straight to Cheltenham.

"I thought he got to the line well at Limerick and seemed to handle the [testing] ground – it was a good performance. The Albert Bartlett looks the obvious race for him."

I just stuck a tester 25 quid up at 15 and no takers.
          Nothing to see…

Last matched price 25, if there was info the horse suffered a setback those in the know would be laying at whatever lay prices were there knowing it was risk free…

Yeah weird one. Why not just stick up a lay at 6.4 if you know something?
Been a couple of days of these strange lays at big prices.

I got those prices laid and then laid it myself at 8's, but this took a couple of nibbles, and about 2 hours.
I made a note in my diary as it looked suss.
But with the trainer owt could be happening.
Not a lot of money to bother laying it at really, so probably just people playing when there's no liquidity I reckon.

                        • Betfred haven’t updated their ante post market if anyone wants to top up on what’s left in before they all get trimmed.

                          • (((. Huge shame. Guess we’ll have to wait until next year to see him win the RSA.

I just stuck an order up at a price that if there was an issue with the horse it would have been taken, left it there for a few mins and no takers.
If someone knows something then they take whatever is there, I saw last matched price 25 so put order up at 15 which should have been snapped up...

It would have been taken I reckon, they just weren't snapping it up quickly.
