They are both Grade 3. The three runs (to be handicapped) have to be take place by 27/2
And he needs to run in both in order to get the 3 runs in. That's that one settled then.

This time last year grand paradis has only just had his first run 5 days ago - he got his 3td in in the Michael Purcell at the end of feb and went fav for the pipe. Ended up being rated too highly, but if GC runs this weekend that gives him nearly 5 weeks til the Michael Purcell. Not running this weekend would quell my interest a fair bit, but everything about this horses campaign/intended campaign so far has hinted at a handicap IMO

He's entered Sunday, so would have had 2 runs by 23rd Jan and would only then need to run in one of the ones mentioned. Say he ran on 17th Feb again, that would be 4 weeks between races and then another 4 odd weeks to Chelts which is fine.

Reading back Acheson's response to Lbur, Sunday does sound up in the air though, and if they were set on a Pipe entry, you'd have through his running would've been more concrete.

          • Archie's point re the ground drying up yet again is a good one re Gerri as all comments suggest he'll only run if he can get his toe in. That's not going to help backers going forward.

            • So much talk about splitting Gerri Colombe & Journey With Me, so I'm guessing you all think Robcour make the decisions? As they are both with different trainers, who would have their own ideas I'm sure.

Not much talk about Grand Jury, also trained by Henry, who may have some bearing to where Journey With Me, and ran in one of the key Ballymore trials, and was far from disappointing in my opinion. I think Rachael could have made more use of his speed and taken it up early from Ginto before Ginto's stamina kicked in, as he came there absolutely cruising, but got done by a stronger stayer, in Ginto. The other alternative would to have played GJ later, as maybe he joined Ginto too soon. Either way, I think they learnt a lot from the run.

GJ is the main reason none of this makes sense to me. Given HDB's form was still pretty poor at the time of the run, he ran an absolute blinder. I was sure he'd be a Ballymore horse for them post Lawlors so I don't understand why that would have changed unless he's had a setback. None of all the past comments makes sense with regards to GC replacing JWM in AB so JWM can go Bally. That's what's weird about it all.

                  • The "I don't have a clue where Robcour runners are going" treble best priced at Sky 3,450/1 (mainly as they're standout 28s Grand Jury)... just had 1pt on it in case it turns out this way & as a cover to GC bets I've got for the Ballymore...

                    Grand Jury - Ballymore
                    Journey With Me - AB
                    Gerri Colombe - MP

This has made me think what price Robcour would be for Top Owners this year... in addition to the above Acheson's got Bob, Teahupoo, Jumping Jet, Magic Daze, Gin On Lime and that's just off the top of my head...

Yeah, doubt he'll run though, IMO, unless they are fishing for a mark.

Sky had them at 6/1 for 3+ winners for a long time. Really annoyed with myself for not taking it as it has now been cut to 3/1

Hahaha, yeah a couple of them might be relying on a faller

Didn't even see that... probably would have had a go at 6s myself

12/1 sky rab. Think it was 16s at one stage.
