Maybe that will be something that can be ironed out but I'd be worried personally if he did that going LH again next time.
Agreed, can't see Ginto and Hollow Games both coming here either.

      • "He will step up in distance." in regards to Ginto so the Ballymore will be out of the question.

        • I can't imagine Ginto will be anywhere near Cheltenham in March.

There's two fairly good reasons for that. Firstly I don't think he'll be good enough to earn his ticket (unless Elliott handicaps him), and secondly he jumps right and doesn't look like a Cheltenham horse at all. Even if he came he's be one I'd ignore.

Hollow Games on the other hand is made for the Bartlett, and Elliott won't pass up the opportunity with him.

            I echo every word.

Including where Gordon had them hurdles debut
He ran Hollow Games in his Key Bartlett race

Probably a good thing, if you want him in the Ballymore, IMO.

                          • After reading Gordon Elliotts stable tour and the mention of the Monksfield Novice Hurdle I decided to see which of his runners went where.

                            2020:
Fakiera won and went on to finish 10th in the Albert Bartlett.
Farouk d'Alene 4th but no festival run.

                            2019:
Fury Road won and then finished a close third in the Albert Bartlett.

                            2018:
Felix d'esjy came 5th before finishing 6th in the Supreme Novices.
Dinons finished 7th and went onto be pulled up in the Albert Bartlett.
Sometime Soon was sadly fatally injured.

                            2017:
Samcro won this and then won the Ballymore.
Delta Work finished 3rd and then won the Pertemps.

                            2016:
Death Duty won and then UR in the Albert Bartlett (at a well fancied 13/8f).

                            2015:
Cogryhill finished 5th but did not run at the festival.

                            2014:
Free Expression won but did not run at the festival. 5th placed Fort Smith did not appear at the festival either.

                            2013:
                            No Entries

                            2012:
Bonisland came third and didn't go to the festival.

                            2011:
Mount Benbulben won and then came 7th in the Albert Bartlett.

                            ‐---‐----‐‐----------

I'm sure Saxon Warriors fantastic diary will have already outed this particular race as one Gordon likes to use but it is nice to see that it's not only a race popular for his Albert Bartlett sorts but that a few others have gone onto have success in other races at the festival.

I’ve heard a rumour that Elliot paid some trainers/breeders to take their horses out of Ginto’s PTP so Ginto really impressed and there after inflated his price at the sales which he creamed a fair bit off. Only a rumour but one I’ve heard mentioned a few times and the way Ginto has travelled and performed so far you’d be wary he’s going to ever justify his massive price tag

But that would mean Gordon was essentially conning his richest owner and yard sponsor? Seems a bit of a stretch that he’d get them to overpay for an average horse. I’m not saying Ginto will be top class but Gordon needs to keep his owners happy surely?

To be fair, I wouldn’t know about the dark arts involved in the point game so there could be some validity to it.
