  • Toying with the idea of taking a NRNB price about Whatdeawant for this.

Noticed PPBF are 5/1 for him at the weekend. I personally think that's a bad price but suggests he's sort of likely to show up there.

I thought his maiden hurdle win was a staying performance. I get the ownership thing but personally think they'll come round to the AB idea. It's NRNB so nowt to lose.

Danny did say after his maiden win, he could go out in trip, or even back in trip when grounds slower. Well i'd say the spring ground will also encourage the 3m route.

Doubt he'll win at the weekend either so for me he'll end up here- hopefully after having shaped well on Saturday. Happy to write off his Lawlor's run i think he looked fine before having encountered some problems.

Owners and trainer have both said Ballymore so if you are going to have a bet, make sure it's NRNB

Yep said that above there ain't much difference between the two anyway. It's just on my mind, not backed yet, as i'll see if dec'd and riding arrangements. Might not really be worth it.

I backed WDW before he made his seasonal debut and had given up on the bet despite my thoughts that this is the most suitable race for him. Even though he's namechecked the Ballymore - I am still being strung along that bit longer with his entry for this race - never say never.

          • Has anyone backed Bronn for this? It looks like Willie will have The Nice Guy coming here but I'd kick myself if Bronn ended up winning or putting a good run in this weekend and I didn't have him in the book.

Just been looking at these 2 before declarations tomorrow.

No brainer 33-1 NRNB I reckon.
              Minella Cocooner 16-1 also.

In fact Minella Cocooner ought to be added to the NRNB markets for the martin pipe.

Instead of Gerri Colombe or as well as do you think?

Ginto coming here wouldn't affect GC's target imo. Different owners

                    • I think Hollow Games hacking up is the only thing that'll stop Ginto running here.
Even that might not be enough!

                        • Gordon on Hollow Games
Cullentra House is home to a wealth of top talent headlined by Brighterdaysahead, Firefox, Found A Fifty, Gerri Colombe, and Teahupoo.

“He is an intended runner in the Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors '€50,000 Cheltenham Bonus For Stable Staff' Novice Hurdle. He lost his unbeaten record in the Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle last time and while I think the best horse won in Ginto, I thought Hollow Games should have finished second rather than third. He made a couple of mistakes and got stuck in a pocket, so it’s fair to say that the race didn’t go his way. I have no doubts about him staying this longer trip and I’m looking forward to seeing how he has progressed from Naas.“

”He’s a possible runner in the Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors "€50,000 Cheltenham Bonus For Stable Staff" Novice Hurdle. He’s one that we’ll be careful with as regards the ground. I walked the track at Leopardstown on Wednesday and was happy with it, so he’ll have a fair chance of running. He’s a horse that shows nothing at home, but he keeps winning, so we’re looking forward to getting him into deeper company and seeing how he measures up.”

Charming way to describe the horse!!

                            • "Grand Jury is in good form. He had a great run behind Ginto at Naas and the way he travelled into the straight, I thought he was nearly going to win, and then Ginto pulled away from him, but I liked the way he stuck at it and he’s a lovely horse. He’s stepped forward a good bit from his first run for a step up in trip, so we think a bit more of a step up again might suit him. We always had a good opinion of him. He’d been doing some lovely bits of work at home and he was a very impressive point-to-point winner.
"I was more surprised/ disappointed with him at Punchestown (in November) but I thought we saw more of the real Grand Jury at Naas, than at Punchestown.

"I hope so (that two extra furlongs will siut him). The way he stayed at it up the straight, I thought he gave every chance to let Hollow Games go by him, and I thought he stayed at it well. We’re learning and he’s entered in the three novice hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival, but after the Lawlor’s Of Naas, we thought the Albert Bartlett would suit him."

                              • So are we all agreed that if Hollow Games wins at the DRF then He'll come here and Ginto will go Ballymore? Or do we see them both going to the Albert? Or do we see one of them missing Cheltenham altogether? Can't get my head around those two.
