Is there a plausible reason that Gerri Colombe could be pulled from the Friday race? I know that the big hitters have probably their best team of novice hurdlers for a good few years and I am hoping that my Gerri Colombe Ballymore bets don't fall victim to this.

This to me is a huge negative for both Hollow Games and Gerri Colombe going to the Ballymore if either take up their Friday entry .

I am hoping it’s Hollow Games."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Think this quote really threw plenty of Us, or our confidence grew he would be a ballynore horse. Still a chance he might not be declared!
"He’ll probably start off at two miles, but I could see him stepping up to two-and-a-half miles as the season progresses. We are quite excited about him."

However all are backed with cash out so I'll be utilising that upon entries if required to do so.
Cashout could be our saviour.
Hopefully we dont need it too often."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

From memory the early season fav’s have performed badly in this race for a few years now so it not a race to get carried away in too early. I’ve currently backed 5 horses covered for this race which I think I’d still good value…..
Barnardstown Lad - 50/1
Hollow Games - 33/1
Letsbeclearaboutit - 33/1
Journey With Me - 33/1
Three Stripe Life - 33/1
Given the way this race pans out and the recent winner and place prices this is one the rare antepost races that you need to worry about missing a price on until the closer to the festival

I wouldn't be too concerned if you're a Hollow Games Albert Bartlett backer. Many an Bartlett horse has started out over two miles. He won two bumpers so there no reason not to start over the minimum and work up as you need to.
Also Gordon has a lot of novice hurdlers to get a run in to, so fitting them all into the race calendar isn't easy. Plus most of his have needed the run so far, and he'll be happy to pick up some prize money at Down Royal while getting his horses fit.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Gordon’s ATR stable tour comments for Hollow Games:
”He’s a very nice horse that we think a lot of. We decided not to run him in the Champion Bumper as we didn’t think it was the right thing to do with a big horse like him at that stage of his career. He schooled very well over hurdles at Tipperary last week and as soon as we get some rain, he’ll be ready to start off over hurdles. He’s probably a horse that will stay, but I wouldn’t be afraid to start him at two miles either. We’re really looking forward to him.”
I’m not sure if Ginto won’t turn out to be the Bartlett horse for the Morans?Last edited by Cashew King; 26 October 2021, 02:40 PM.
