  • Ginto

Elliott said: "That was great. He's a big galloper and that shows us that he's the horse we thought he was.

"He had no race here the last day, but what I loved today was what he did from the second-last to the line. He just galloped.

"He's a good horse and he's a chaser in the making. We'll see where we go next but he'll get an entry in the Grade 1 Lawlor's Novice Hurdle at Naas next month."

Ginto was cut to a general 12 and 14-1 shot for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle, although he is as low as 8-1 favourite for that race with Unibet.

    • ….not sure if prices are anything to go by, but HG remains a best price 8-1 for this whilst Ginto is 16-1 with Coral.

Ginto is 4-1 in Sky AB place market.

I now suspect Hollow Games is now more likely to go to the Ballymore and Ginto here.

          I'm not so sure.

I think they'll meet in the Lawlor's at Naas and sort themselves out from there...

Martin Pipe not out of the question for either, either.

          • Was very impressed with the Mullins horse inbthe maiden hurdle at Navan today. Looked a proper stayer, powered home after the last. Horses he beat were no mugs

Yep - it's the grade 1's that will sort them out.
Then see what sort of marks they land on.
The Lawlor's winner and Dublin festival winner, would normally go ballymore unless mitigating circumstances like ground and other stars in the yard.

                    Maybe

But I couldn't have hollow games for the ballymore at all

And whilst ginto did look good, he does jump to the rigthe and as someone who doesn't make a book I back 2-4 in each race id prefer to see some of willies ammo run first before commiting

I've been around for a bit and can't decide between the Ballymore and Potato race for HG at all.

Some very average horses got him off the bridle last time

Surely he doesnt have the gears that recent winners like Bob, envoi, samcro etc had

From experience , it just doesn't work out that easy. Need to wait and watch what happens going forward. Doubt we'll know for sure now until Decs time. One of those I'm afraid.

Thats not really my point, I'm not interested in him at all for the ballymore, or ginto really

Don't think they have the gears for it

Could they run well yes, but can see both being beaten by something with more speed

                              By whom though?

                              • Thought Ginto looked more a 2 and half miler today and not a dour stayer but not one to be good enough to win the Ballymore but could place.
