      Yeah absolutely.

Also for anyone who likes to back and then lay for stake back.

Seperate question, what was the latest with Knight Salute? I can't remember what the last update was regarding him.

I do like these bets / prices... as based on the comments above (and what we know about Nicholls) that they either win and book their place, and therefore shorten significantly, or they don't win...and you get your money back.

Agree, have added both. Another thing we know is that the Triumph market generally likes a Nicholls horse which wins impressively in the run up to the Festival (I'm thinking Solo, Pic D'Orhy, Zubayr...). Could be a nice opportunity to trade.

            • Id fancy porticello to reverse form with Knight salute now Lobos, think Porticello has improved loads since his first 2 runs where he looked really green imo, not to say ks won't improve again but he'd had that extra run or 2 when they met and more experienced at that time

Possibly. I do think KS course form will count for a lot though. He's improved again since beating Porticello as well.

                • Notable entries for the Adonis:

Graystone - 127 OR. Would give them a decent lead in this.

Impulsive One - 130 OR. Looks covered by Knight Salute after being beaten twice by him already.

Iroko - 124 OR. Didn;t run too badly on his first run in GB in the Grade 1 Juvenile Hurdle. First hurdle race was a 4 length beating in September by Intense Raffles and had Ivanohe behind (both decent horses). Needs this run to qualify for the Boodles (actuallly, will a run on Saturday qualify him)?

                  Knigth Salute

                  Merveillo -
debut over hurdles. 96 rated on the flat in France and won a listed race over 1m4. JP McManus owned, like Iroko.

Moka De Vassy - if runs, some insight to the Pied Piper form.

Pleasant Man -Paul Nicholls hurdle debutant. Part owned by the McNeils. 95 rated on the flat.

Rubaud - Paul Nicholls debutant. Maiden winner in france. High RPR of 97 in a group 3.

The Fanous Five - Venetia Williams trained. No runs yet over hurdles. By Camelot out of a decent family.

                  • I have completed a10-year Assessment of the TRIUMPH HURDLE and the RPR's that the Winners and placed horses had achieved prior to their Festival runs, and compared that with this seasons crop.

Also interesting horses entered this week in the Dark Ones section, bearing in mind that 3 Triumph Winners and 3 Triumph placed horses in the last 7 seasons hadn't run in GB/IRE by now - and there are four with entries this week to check out the form for those whose profile fits this group, including one at a 100/1 NRNB for the Triumph Hurdle.

                    • I just wanted to highlight what I think are two interesting entries for the Adonis that to my knowledge haven’t been discussed much in here. The horses are Bascule and Teddy Blue.

Richard Hughes name checked the triumph some months back. The race has special association because of his father. The horse is highly progressive on the AW obtaining an rpr of 97 over 1 mile 6 and keeping on strongly in the final furlong. The weather put paid to any chance he had on his hurdling debut and he was unsurprisingly a massive market drifter on the day jogging home in 4th. I suspect he will be a different proposition on much better ground at the weekend and with that experience behind him. He is available at 25 for the Adonis and 66 for the triumph. It wouldn’t be the biggest shock to see him run a big race in the Adonis and shorten considerably for the Triumph recognising it has been name checked.

Teddy Blue is highly regarded by Gary Moore and won impressively on the flat on good ground in France again over 1m 6 and again staying strongly. He ran at lingfield during their new 3 day festival. He ran against elders in a weakfish race but ran eye catchingly. On heavy ground he pulled like a train almost throughout and yet still hit the front with consummate ease before understandably tiring at the death. As I say it was an eye catching run for a 4 year old on tough going, making his debut against older and fitter horses (trainer said he would come on for the run) He has already been nibbled at in the Adonis market but is still available at 14 s with hills and maybe one or two others. I don’t know if the Triumph is the plan but it is reasonable to think that he could be the trainers decent ground alternative to Porticello. He is available at 50s for the Triumph, which again could collapse with a win at the weekend.

I know there are the obvious Nicholls horses and of course KS but thought these two were worthy of a mention.

                      • Thanks Rooster
Small e/w bet on both at those odds seems reasonable to me.

                        • England's number 1 Triumph horse Knights Salute.......

"That work was sexy," said Harris. "He's a workmanlike horse, which made Tuesday really unusual. His prep has gone really well and we are where we should be going into a competitive race.
"He doesn't appreciate winter soft ground, he's much better on decent ground. Some of these horses haven't had a break, but we've aimed ourselves solely at this. He's the favourite and is running in the right race."

"I'd be surprised if we weren't a sharper horse than Porticello, and Gary would probably agree his one is more of a chasing type," said Harris. "Porticello wants slower ground than we do, but we still beat him despite the conditions – not because of them – at Doncaster.

"We are what price we are, but what matters is if all goes well on Saturday, it'll be off to Cheltenham then Aintree. They're our ultimate goals for the season."

Could cash out my antepost bet at 25/1 for about 90% stake back... No brainer that.
