It won't be anything like heavy on Friday but itll be plenty soft enough to give him a chance
Doubt it. The rain an obvious positive for FD, but the market has decided its not a positive for Pied Piper which is weird as he won his last start on the flat on heavy and beat Vauvan on debut on heavy. 3/1 is a brilliant price about Pied Piper IMO. He's a better horse than FD, he's beaten Vauban, he has Cheltenham experience, Davy up top, I think 3/1 is really good tbh.

He's got Kennedy on top. Hence my question yesterday.

Oh, RP originally said FD, thats changed. Would be in the back of my mind but not going to stop me topping up

Fair play, didn't see that. Agree with your general point though and think it's a strange choice from Davy, if he got to pick... Which I assume he did. Which is what I was originally trying to get at.

Davy was originally on Pied Piper. It was said at one of the preview nights that Davy had the pick so the heavy ground must have changed his mind. Bad move IMO as Pied Piper is proven on heavy and at Cheltenham.

Yep, mistake IMO. I think PP will make a mockery of Fil D'or

                  • Really hoping Vauban wins, got him at 16s and at this moment I still feel he's the likelier winner, the one I'm worried about is Doctor Parnassus, past twice I've watched it win I just keep thinking it may have a chance, done a Doctor Panassus W/O Vauban and pied piper as I think it could run well.

Has to be the likeliest winner

Wouldve beaten pied piper with a better jump at the last at punchestown (or at a track with a large up hill finish like tomorrow)

Sauntered past fil dor next time

Takes all the beating in the world with a clean run

                      • Despite the British doing well today, the Irish dominated the Fred Winter. Vauban for me but Il Etait Temps could strp forward again.

                        • Im all over vauban for this but i think course and distnce will suit for fil dor aswell, william hill have him 2/1 without pied piper and vauban..thats a straight lump for me and in a couple of multis i think its good value

                          • I'd love see Pied Piper beat Vauban. He has before and I hope he does again. Really surprised Davy has picked Fil D'or because Pied Pipers form on soft/heavy is savage and he simply looks a better animal, and, has more substance to his form

I have him at 16's and am confident he will do the business today.

It’s now good to soft so can’t see the rain having much of an impact after the weather across yesterday and the sun this morning
