  • Just seen Vauban last price matched at EVS on the exchanges, someone's had a bit of nightmare there

    • How good is Vauban?

      Patrick Mullins:
      Better than Pied Piper

That brings both Knight Salute and Porticello (who also are closely tied) much closer to the Irish pair than originally thought. Makes it a much more interesting race . The English have a very, very good record in the Triumph and those two will definitely be in the mix this time around. No way should KS be the price he is based on yesterday's run . He should not be 6 times the price of the Irish pair.
Lobos, I’m wondering if ‘The English have a very, very record in the Triumph’ equates to the fact Irish trained horses have won 6 out of the last 9 renewals of this race??

5 from 9 if you dismiss Goshen's mishap. I go back a long way

Certainly some bold statements coming out of the Mullins yard this year, I know Willie has made a couple about various horses as well

Hard to know the context of it in an article, was it bold or was it tongue in cheek? I found alot of the Q&A article he tried to hard to be funny in his answers and never gave away anything or was never serious, but that's how I read it and might have seen it differently if was a video and seen his body language, heard tone of voice etc

A preview night last week Ruby and Gary O'Brien gave him as their best bet for the meeting. Ruby was very sweet on him, said he will improve a lot from debut where he was already very impressive. The fact Ruby is so keen led me to believe he's being aimed here

                    Cheers Percy!

i like him - reminds me quite a bit of Farclas who won this (both by Jukebox Jury)

My guess is they’ll run him here and at Punchestown, and if they fail to win either then they have a nice prospect for next years novice hurdle campaign

                      • Haven’t looked at the market for a while but it looks like there’s been some confidence behind Porticello’s chances in the last few days.
Was 20 odd on the machine when I last looked, now 14…

I watched the preview yesterday with Niall Hoolihan and Mattie Batchelor on it , they were quite sweet on Porticello ..
obviously N.H is jockey to Gary Moore ... but he came across as a Decent Fellow , Knowledgeable .

                          • ….Porticello runs if the going is at least good/soft. Teddy Blue won’t run if the going is testing.

                              • Fil Dor is right back in this after the deluge

He needs a little cut in the ground

Can see him going off shorter than pied piper

It won't be anything like heavy on Friday but itll be plenty soft enough to give him a chance
