Icare Allen has just franked the form of Vauban.

Maybe should have said the Irish form has taken a hit. Cmon England!!!!!

    • Something poetic about using a race where an Irish horse came over and absolutely smashed the English challengers as a reason to knock the Irish form

So I'm going to be honest....

You're comment above surprises me, as this is what you've backed so far...
I backed Vadaly before the run at Leopardstown and now expecting her not to run in the race so money back. She's not an option to cash out (otherwise I would have), as she is with SkyBet, I'm hoping she doesn't turn up now. I'm not happy with her as a bet, but my hands are tied with regards to her.

Rubaud, Pleasant Man, & Petit Tonnerre I'm also expecting money back for, all are NRNB and I can't currently cash them.

I've cashed The Famous Five today.

That leaves the list you quoted a whole lot smaller, 3 of which have the beating of Icare Allen on the one run they've met and the other (Pied Piper) on a form line through Pied Piper/Vauban. The anomaly in the list being Doctor P, but he's not been beat yet, and although unlikely, IMO, to put it up to the top Irish lot, I'm willing keep onside.

Maybe I'm taking it too literally, but he was still up at 50's after the race and I didn't take it. I'm happy with the form lines I've covered on this occasion.

Much love back and well done on the profit from Icare Allen

Indeed. However, even giving Pied Piper an additional 10 lengths for winning it as easy as he did , the form guys have Knight Salute ahead based on today's race. 9/4 compared to 14/1.......ummmmmm. perhaps KS is a fantastic EW bet based on that ??

Think he always has been a good EW bet to be fair, although maybe one for the day with extra places. Haven't watched his race today yet mind, but clearly a talented horse, with course form. Can't see him being any worse than 2nd best of the English bunch (Porticello, I'd have KS myself).

Agree that the Pied Piper form is falling apart a bit, but wouldn't stretch it any further than that. They're juveniles, all improving at different rates, hard to make any strong opinions on form lines, let alone through 2/3 different races.

Maybe we should have just listened to Gordon when he said that Fil Dor is the better horse

            • Just think we (including me) have all got carried away by Irish top 3 and have just ignored the English form. Mysilv and Defi put winning runs together like KS and won the Triumph. He's a top place bet. Agree, wait for the extra places on the day. Everyone will hammer the Irish on the day but he could, just could, spoil the party.

Can't have that Lobos. They're miles clear imo.

But they're not. Computer (form guys) says no.

Which form guys? RPRs are massively in the favour of the Irish.

No-one is going to disagree he's a form boost for the ones at the top of the market, but the price was just wrong.
Agree with this and the fact he’s won a couple races now you know WPM will aim at the top race with him. Won’t have a novice status next year.

As I said earlier I would have kept and eye if he’d been given a tentative ride and beaten. Now I’ve no doubt he’ll go to the triumph with Vauban and the French horse I can’t be arsed to find and spell correctly.

As Lobos has said all along, I think Knights Salute is being a little underestimated, he’s had form boosts left, right and centre and still keeps winning. Fair share play, I think he goes with a solid chance.

What a solid horse he is. Definitely deserves his place in the top of the triumph market imo.

Edit - finally agreed with the panel on ITV where I think Knights Salute is always just doing enough and probably has a bit left.

Knight Salute OR was 137 before today (can’t see how his form improved today, only beat a maiden hurdler). Fil D’or is rated 141 and Vauban beat him 3 lengths - The Irish form is a stone clear, roughly.

Any need to be so mean about it?

I’m lost for words after reading this, flabbergasted wudnt even cut it! If KS has any sense he’ll skip Cheltenham and head straight to aintree, he’s a speed horse and flat tracks like today will suit him. OStop hacking accounts and leave lobos alone, he’s sound as a pound

                            • Just watched the Adonis. KS looked pretty decent. He's no 14/1 shot and I'd personally have him joint 3rd fav with Fil Dor or half a point bigger. I can't see why Porticello is shorter. KS already beat him with a shade of comfort and his efforts at Haydock and Chepstow were poor IMO.

He does look underestimated and if we get 4 places on the day, I'd struggle to see him out of the top 4. KS in the match markets may also be something I'd look at.
