Connections did seem to suggest Zanahiyr was better than Quilixios last season though.

Which was one of the strangest pieces of the puzzle last year.

I believe, they believe it though this year.

Didn’t zanahiyr end up having breathing issues end of last season? He’s certainly the better of the pair now so they may well have been right but for that issue presenting itself

Al Ferof was better than Sprinter Sacre one year though.

        • I think PP is definitely interesting. I suggested him for the monthly Yankee with the below. My take on the Elliott interview was that he'd surprised them and may have raised expectations.

          Pied Piper - Triumph Hurdle

Has recorded the best debut RPR of any juvenile yet this season and looked really good beating Vauban. Obviously same connections as Fil Dor but worth noting that - when asked about the Triumph after PP's run - Gordon Elliott said: "We have Fil Dor but there's no harm having another dart to fire at it" (https://www.racingtv.com/videos/watch/ondemand/119894). Not certain but a good sign. Also, they'd have to try and squeeze another two runs in before the Festival if they wanted to send him to the Boodles which is not impossible but currently feels unlikely

Anyone here remember Kauto Star getting done a short head by Mistral de la Cour at Exeter ?
The result doesn’t tell you Kauto fell and was remounted but the formbook says one of the greatest NH horses in history was beaten by a total pig…

Seen it plenty, don't remember it though as I'm so young and spunky.

Id say vauban put up a performance just as good if not better! Pied piper was a fresher horse in the race he had previously ran in october on the flat compared to vaubans run in june/july time i beleive..also couple the fact the debut was on heavy going pied piper looks to favour heavy ground if you look at his flat form whereas thats not ideal for vauban based on his own id also say vauban was likely about to win the race even if he jumped the last average - crap hed of won it ..but unfortunately he jumped it massively S**t! And pretty much come to a stand still after it..Althought he was still getting back up at the end of it ..i think he will be the better of the 2 going forward

also on debut pied piper and vauban were 11.2 and fil dor was 11.0?? Dunno what that means if im being completely honest but possibly something to think about!

                • Let's hope they keep hyping up Fil Dor so he keeps the value in the rest of the market

I remember it well Istabraq. I was on Kauto at 10/1 for a fair chunk antepost for the Festival.

I was in the Carribean at the time and was tipped off that he had a problem post race, and I couldn't get a worthwhile connection to get onto the exchange to get him laid off.

I could have strangled Ruby. As he wasn't available, instead I strangled the Hotel Manager who kept promising to get someone out to fix the internet and never did.

They have their own pace of life in the Caribbean, historically the only things that happen quickly are in the form of 6 foot 8 lunatics holding just under 6 ounces of red leather…

Edit; Vauban a best price 16-1 and as low as 10-1 with PP.

                            He’s 14s for the Triumph alone…

Won't be if he wins the Spring Juvenile though. He's 3/1 to win that with Sky, so puts him 9/2ish for the triumph afterwards. I'd imagine he'll be shorter than that if he beats Fil D'or in the Spring Juvenile.

I mean, it's not a bet for me but I can see why they've priced him that way.

I know he’s entered in the but Fil Dor is going straight to the festival isn’t he?
