  • I fired an email over to Willie Mullins team asking about Vauban. As expected, they told me they can't divulge information due to owner confidentiality but did say I should stick him in my tracker to watch for an entry. He's already in it although I do wonder if this is a subtle hint we may see him out soon (or more likely me over analysing a generic response).

Fair play to these trainers who take the time to respond to general e-mails.
      Anyone tried Hendo ?

Yes even though I didn't hear what I was hoping I was extremely grateful of the response.

With regards to Hendo, I have had a few responses from Billy Aprahamian who seems a good guy. I only really asked about I am Maximus prior to his debut etc but on the whole most connections have been responding at the very least.

I did a degree in history and they made us do at least one module of early modern history. So I spent a lot of my 18th year on this earth being bored rigid about Vauban and his bloody star shaped fortresses to the point even reading that horse's name has made me shudder

That’s where I recognised the name from. I’ve been scratching my head for days - cheers robith (from another historian!)

            • In This World and Fil Dor are useful juveniles then

Yeah, with Greystone winning the other day too, In This World's form in particular is starting to stack up.

                • Porticello's jumping didn't improve 1 bit from his first run, no chance here

                  • Good from Salute there. Big player! Turn of foot is impressive.

                    • Don’t think the race was run to suit him, but agree he’s going nowhere jumping like that.

It was plenty better until the sprint for home started

Missed the last two, cost him any chance

Looked like he'd benefit from a greater test of stamina already

None of those exactly screamed triumph winner

                        • Knight Salute won well and did all that was asked of him, and Impulsive One was closer this time out - never liked Porticello’s jumping. Whether KS has enough to beat In This World or Fil Dor is another matter, albeit FD was underwhelming last time out.

                          • Porticello certainly isn’t a fluent jumper but in a Triumph when they go hard from the tapes and go racing speed for 17f it could help improve his jumping…

KS can just sit and stalk off any pace and use his pace from the last. He's got everything in my book. He's deffo the best English shout v the Irish and England have a decent record in the race. Be Interesting if the Juvenile maestro Kot agrees .

If we go off collateral form, In This World is pretty clear of Knight Salute.
