  • Andy Holding very keen on Champion Green for this. Strong flat form in maidens, similar profile to Sir Erec for connections. Joseph mentioned he’s going hurdling so price could fall once entered.

apologies if you’re already all over this

    • For anyone that's feeling ambitious, Virginbet still have a horse called "This World" listed in their Triumph Hurdle market at 25-1.

It's not quite "In This World" and a bet now would make it stand out that its been backed after the race so it may not help retain your account!

        • Sir erec was a 109 rated flat horse who only got beat 2 lengths by strad at ascot on champions day

champion Green about 20lbs worse than him on the flat

            That was my immediate thought.

I think it's the JP Mcmanus ex flat horses with Joseph link he's relating to.
Like Gardens of Babylon, Ivanovich Gorbatov & sir erec. Probably some others that weren't so good

Joseph trains, JP owns, strong form on flat taking to hurdling. Appreciate that there’s probably loads with that profile but wanted to share the view for you to consider

                Yep.
It was the just mentioning Sir Erec bit that did it, as his flat form was obviously very different.

                • Gone off Joseph trained horses completely to be fair, although I have backed one of his (it's a faint hope)

Seems to have regressed massively since 2 or 3 years ago for whatever reason, big shame

It’s not the same level but the Curragh maiden was close up behind four 100+ horses, shaping like he needed a trip more than the others.

Indeed it is never a given for the flat rating to translate over jumps. The one that springs to mind for me is Housesofparliament who was third in the Leger and finished his flat career rated 113. He was bang average as a juvenile hurdler and I've just checked that he signed off in 2018 winning a handicap hurdle over 3m off a lowly 130.

Less interested in the game, probably meaning owners aren't arsed sending him decent ammo. Doesn't make sense for an owner to send a horse to him really.

                                We get this every year.
                                Hardly any will be declared.
Not sure why Gordon enters so many to be fair.
In one of the bumpers he's entered 5.
He's definitely picking up prize money whilst Willie is still sleeping but some of the entries like American Mike and Fil Dor seem superfluous.
