They won the race with Allmankind and Adagio won it last year for Pipe so might not be a bad start should he win the race.

            • Just seen that In This World is still a Colt. Would this be a major put off to people before hurdling debut and the Triumph?

              Declared Friday btw

A unnecessary risk for me. You just know Willie or Gordy will be sticking a filly in the triumph if this fella has a chance

Absolutely. I can't imagine me fancying jumping a hurdle and my balls being sliced open by thick branches.

To be fair hurdles aren't branches, and they are padded, and they do a good job these days of protecting and strapping the crown jewels in.
The point made earlier about entering a mare is only really valid if she is in season, I have no idea if this can be predicted but mares in season are usually pulled anyway, if such a plan was to be hatched it would be entirely visible to everyone and I doubt it will go down well...

The fishnets would be the giveaway.

                      • Sat down to have a read whilst eating my dinner, ended up with Lobos battered and bruised ball-sack imprinted on my minds eye. Lovely.

Sir Erec was a full colt the year he ran in the Triumph (RIP). Each horse behaves differently is the basic thinking. I wouldn't fancy one jumping a chasing fence however, hurdles should be no issue, they ideally brush their front legs on the top bar and graze their breast bones. If your crown jewels come into contact with a hurdle, you really would be in a lot of trouble even without them.

                          • Monksfield was also an entire horse so no need to worry.

                            • I'm pretty sure the original comment from Olliemagern was a joke ?, but the thoroughness and general earnesty of the discussion that has followed is admirable.

And besides, who knows if In This World is even interested in fillies and mares.
He could be concentrating on the eunuch's backsides.

Was slightly tongue in cheek that anyone would intentionally enter a horse just for that reason. Willie did make sure there was one in the sir erec (rip) race tho that went off at 40/1. Just a needless risk in my eyes but I’m sure there’s a reason for not snipping him (might have arrived too late into the yard and didn’t wanna wait the time for the rest Period after the op) and hopefully somebody could ask Dan if he wins on debut.

Wouldn’t stop me backing him at a decent price ante-post but I’d be weary of backing him at a short price till I saw his antics in the parade ring on the day. But I’m sure that’s the case for many horses as Cheltenham does sometimes get the better of horses
