She could go to Cheltenham for a National Hunt novice hurdle to give her experience of the place because we’ll have to be thinking of the mares’ novice hurdle at the festival. She’s related to some good winners in Ireland and I like her a lot.”
She wasn’t mentioned in the October ATR stable tour oddly…

    • She was mentioned by Dan/Harry as a dark horse in Paul Fergusons One Jump Ahead if I remember correctly.

      • Quite liked that from party central. Will appreciate a fast run 2 miles and 25s seems reasonable

Gordon said she wasn't right coming out of her last race when she ran flat so a bigger run was expected today.

Seemed to pull jockeys arms out for chunk of the race so entitled to run out of gas and runner up obviously been running over further so I wouldn’t be too worried about the finish but obviously needs to settle better. She’s in the mix imo

              • No mention of Gypsy Island in the Fahey stable tour in this weeks Racing and Football outlook, there might be a bigger version in the Weekender , but i would have thought she would have rated a mention in both if all was well

                • I think we need to move on from Gypsy Island. Folk on here have backed her for the last 2 Festivals. She's clearly hard to keep straight and therefore not the most reliable. You can hardly blame the yard for not updating on her on a regular basis. She's a back on the day job to me, certainly not an ante post proposition.

                    • Sorry ole boy. I've backed her in 2020, 21 and won't rule out 22 either but it will be on the day!

All I can think of is Lobos on his 7th big glass of red wine, empty boxes of milk tray strewn all over the place to the soundtrack of Celine Dion making whale noises in the background.

Don't know what to make of that ! Sounds ok though.

Bay of Freedom stated a little while back that GI was fit and well at Fahey's so that'll do for now. She's had a run albeit back in May but is clearly fragile so I wouldn't expect her to have more than one run prior to March. If she gets there fit and well then her back form is good enough to put her in with a very good chance.

                              • Hauturiere runs in the opener for Willie Mullins at Tramore against Guily Billy and is not without hope, IMO.

It is, of course, a punt, but Willie started Laurina off in this race, and Hauturiere started off her career in France at Fontainebleu, the same course Laurina did. In this case putting two & two together won't necessarily get you the answer you would be hoping for, but worth noting.

Her French form has worked out very hit and miss, it was only a NHF race, where she finished 2nd, and as to be expected, some of the horses have come out of it not taking to hurdles too well and others have done well since the transition, overall it can be taken with a pinch of salt.

On her breeding, shes by No Risk At All, a sire of the likes of Allaho, Keskonrisk and former favourite of this race (2019) and Champion Hurdle winner (2020), Epatante. The dam has yet to produce anything of note, but it's still early days for her, but her grand-dam has produced some good horses, including multiple graded winner in France, Usual Suspects, so there is a little bit of back class in her pedigree.

She's a 50/1 (can be boosted) poke for this race with WH, obviously no cash out, but I've had a little go on this.
