Yeah I know they've definitely bigged up a lot of theirs over the years to get a big fee that have turned out to be average, but bits and pieces that i've seen from take tea, even in today's run, just gives me the feeling she has a lot more to give.

Given who the owner is I wouldn't be surprised if there is a plan for her, and today could have been step one, throw her in first time out with brandy love who they think is better and maybe fitter and let her get beat a distance.

Just a hunch at this stage though, could be wrong.

    • She won very easily and her jumping improved as the pace increased, and she looked to have a bit in hand. Harder tests to come, but nice to have her in the book, and she was a great price late last night at 11/8 for a couple of roll ups.

      • "She was a 'point' winner, she jumps and gallops. She had a blow there but she was pretty keen the whole way. She went around the bend to pull up so she's very tough. I'm sure she'll have a nice future, she had good bumper form." @PTownend
        on 4/5 fav Brandy Love

The question is just whether grangee is the better horse or did brandy love underperform

The relative SPs would suggest the later but then grangee having the grade 1 entry and brandy love not would suggest the former

Hopefully we see them clashing at some point before this race so that will tell us a lot more

Yep, it could look like a dominant WPM top of the market soon enough.

Yes if belle metal wins on Saturday he will have 4 horses at around 8/1

                • Just watched back the porno stars demolition job. Very impressive. She currently looks Mullins number 1. The race is turning into a hot looking contest. Added her pre race which makes about 7 in the book for me now !

                  • Yup, would think DRF was a blip.
They went into that weekend thinking she was as Patrick put it 'could be something special' but obviously didn't fire on the day for whatever reason which can happen with Mares. They had her well clear of all the other Closutton bumper mares at the time.

Only worry is if she's quick enough over 2m as she def has plenty of stamina.
Brandy & Allegorie would be the 2 from Mullins I would like for the race.

Think she’s pretty ground dependant it was mentioned enough after her p2p and if you watch her bumper win I can’t remember who rode that day but you can see them going way wide in certain parts of the track looking for the better ground (I assume). Was really bad ground at Leopardstown DRF weekend this year I remember when she got beat. Don’t kno why they didn’t run her in the good mares bumper in punchestown tho?!

Yeah I think your right on the ground piece, in the bumper Patrick took her really wide looking for the better ground (which at times is overlooked as he does it a bit with some of the nicer ones in bumpers and can give away the ground) then when she went to Lep they remarked after that the ground may have been the issue why she flattened out.
Think she's top class, I'd say one who will be even better over a fence.

                        • Solid run from elle est belle today in a race that wasn't run to suit at all

An end to end gallop is what she needs, a jog and sprint in a small field she effectively had no chance

Didnt get beat too far and was running on

This mares race tends to suit those sitting off the gallop too if you look at the last two runnings it seems.
