Following on from Skelton's stable tour I've added Nurse Susan to my Mares Novice Hurdle book. Was in the shop to watch her debut win and she was mighty impressive for a horse that has not had a Flat, point to point or Bumper background. To do what she did as a 'complete' Novice, a big baby, was very rare. She travelled brilliantly, jumped superb and quickened away from the last hurdle like a very good filly. She was handed a quite high debut RPR of 123 which she can build on . Skelton has now namechecked the Mares Novice Hurdle and said she will go to Cheltenham before to gain valuable experience. Clearly he thinks a hell of a lot of her. Her age (5) is ideal for the race and Skelton has proved with Rosanna that he can win top races with Mares.I look forward to her making the step up in class next time.

"she was mighty impressive for a horse that has not had a Flat, point to point or Bumper background."
Comapred to who/what?
"She travelled brilliantly"
Compared to?
"jumped superb"
So did Lough Derg spirit
"quickened away from the last hurdle like a very good filly."
Relative.
"She was handed a quite high debut RPR of 123 which she can build on"
Literally true of every horse in training that's still alive.
"Skelton has now namechecked the Mares Novice Hurdle and said she will go to Cheltenham before to gain valuable experience."
Useful...
"Her age (5) is ideal for the race and Skelton has proved with Rosanna that he can win top races with Mares."
Not related.
"Clearly he thinks a hell of a lot of her."
Trainer talks up own horse? Come on.

Even if it was the "Lobos is moving markets" comment that triggered you
It can be too agreeable on here these days.
robith bias post has one on it that refers to this.

she travelled well compared to the other horses in the race? Which albeit are nothing to write home about but she can only beat what was in front of her, and its no different to any other young horse that people have raved about so far this season who have performed very well against inferior opposition?
I dont see why lough derg spirit jumping well takes away from her jumping well? Jumping well on her first ever run can only be a big positive cant it?
The fact that it was her first ever time seeing a racecourse surely makes it far more likely that she will improve on her debut rpr compared to "any other horse in training" including those with numerous runs?
the fact that the trainer has said that this is the target and she will probably have course experience beforehand is again only a positive isn't it?
I'm not a huge fan of the horse or anything and im not sure if you were criticising the horses performance or what you thought was a fact light arguement for backing her from lobos, but if it was the first one then im not sure how jumping well, posting a good debut rpr and seemingly being targeted at this race is not a good thing?

You've made lots of very fair points that I'm sure Kev and OP will both agree with.
