My point was that credible British challengers are so few on the ground todays result doesn't change me thinking 6/4 is decent.
If anything though, the Irish challenge taking a knock today increases chances of more horses running?
You posted it straight after the race and I think people have assumed you're thinking it's related so you like the bet more... when really, it's the same as it was beforehand.
I took it straight after as well, but only because I think Champ's SP will be closer to 6/4 than I did pre-race, and I'm not backing Champ at fav.
Definitely not. He can't be trusted can he ?? Bit like KD. I couldn't touch him.
I'm with you Lobos . I think he's an horrendous price now - wouldn't have minded some of the 20's that was floating about pre Ascot though. Haven't got a penny on either of them.
I don't agree that he 'threw in a bad one' either though.
Definitely want to hear he's come out of the race with no issues, until then, I am worried.
Jockey says he’s disappointed and mentions the sticky ground.
Was he asked? Probably a bit until he knew it was a waste of time I would say.
However one looks at it it’s hard to disagree with PT that it’s disappointing, being beaten that far out after travelling well until that point.
Never know how to take Patrick's comments, but he didn't have to think about whether he'd "put a line through" KD's run today ... talks about limited options, came to soon, put a line through it ... perhaps hinting it was never the intention to run him hard? Maybe there's confirmation bias creeping in here.

Thanks. Those comments give me some confidence. He's now back to a backable price for some multiplies. He was too short before. I'd still have him and Flooring Porter as still the likely winners.

Always tricky whether to believe what your eyes just seen or connections excuses.
He has ran better, that we know, but what we don’t know is what sort of performance he will now put in in March.

I agree in principle, but you couldn't disagree that KD wasn't asked any questions once headed. To my eye, it was an odd run which requires explaining and Patrick has now explained. Whether you take him at his word, or read into those comments is another matter.
Paul could've been gentle on him as he sensed KD had nothing left in the tank and didn't want to bottom him out to squeak third, he could've sensed KD had a niggle, or it could be that he was under orders not to ask KD for anything on the run in. Either way, I am more open to connection reasoning when there is something which requires explaining as there was here.
