  • i had him down as probably going to be beaten when he fell but in the general scheme of things it's inconsequential as long as he isn't hurt physically or mentally.. I've not seen any comments from trainer or jockey which is a slight concern.

          • Saw Thyme Hill at 10s after a disappointing performance in France. Seems big if you're happy to accept the French hurdles didn't suit?

I said at the time it was an odd decision to send him there and I stick by that. He looked absolutely done for at the end. Wouldn't be surprised if it's left a bad mark on him and it could take some time to get over his Exertions. Putting him into a race of that quality, first time up, having to travel, completely different type of track, completely different hurdles.....was very bad planning. Yes the place prize money was dangling but at the detriment of the horses prospects for the rest of the season........no. Connections made a big mistake.

Yeah I see it. I'm going to keep an eye on when/where he's entered up next. I'd be very tempted to cover him (with cashout) beforehand, as he's a win away from being a favourite and I am absolutely against KD to win this (Punchestown wins do nothing for me sorry). Feel like TH and FP could be close to covering the race between them.

                • Flooring Porter...

Cromwell was pleased to report his stable star to be none the worse on Monday and hopes to see him defend his Christmas Hurdle crown next month.
He said: “He’s OK. He just came up too early and caught the top of the hurdle.

“He looked to be going OK. I don’t know whether he’d have won for sure, but I was happy with the performance up to that anyway.

“Hopefully he comes out of it OK and we’ll roll on to Christmas.”

Sounds positive to me. I liked the performance up to then. Am keen to have him on-board before the next run (for me, this run was just making sure there was no Punchestown hangover). Repeat winners hardly a rarity in this race and can't be often a winner as impressive as FP has been that price.

Probably just down to his closest challengers Thyme Hill sinking in France and Flooring Porter failing to complete in Ireland.

A 5 year old winning the stayers would be a real turn up.
Not many would have tried though.
