Fortunately Flooring Porter got up seemingly fine. Hope he's ok. Traded 1.48 before falling and I think he would have kept finding no problem the way he does.
Yup. To the script until that point. Interesting to see how the market reacts.
With the exception of the fall, I thought he was gonna cruise clear then - I'm satisfied with that reappearance (i.e. I thought it was excellent except the fall!) Am I being stupid in thinking that?
If you are then it makes two of us, because I agree. Not much fun seeing him get giddy at the start again though, can do without that sort of carry on if he makes it to the festival and is the last leg of any multis!

If they push him out and reports are he's fine then I'll wade in. His jumping is normally savage but the price you pay for a horse attacking their hurdles low and fast is they sometimes fall. No bother. I thought he was running a fine race and he always looks to get swamped, then finds and wins, so I'm confident he would have done the same today but thats guesswork. Hopefully someone goes 16's somewhere, that would be tasty!!

Agreed entirely. Unfortunately it seems the bookies agree too and have only pushed him out a point or two. Best I’ve found is 11/1 with 365.
Had plenty in the tank when FP fell there - would have won the race so not worried about the fall (assuming that connections say he’s ok after it), still the one for me in the stayers.
As I said it's impossible to be sure, but what convinced me he was going to get swamped was the way Russell backed off after initially sitting in behind, suggesting he thought they were going too quick. Then when Danny took a breather before the final bend they were on his shoulder in strides, suggesting he was happy to slow down alright.
This added to the head cocking and general willingness suggests he would have to be on drugs to keep that gallop up, or Quicken again after slowing, and Darrasso seemed to finish fairly quick and they weren't all walking after the last.
Anyway he would not have been on the drugs for today's race so none of the guesswork really matters.

12/1 was available 365 immediately post race. Suspect they are overreacting with their price changes to avoid immediate cashouts - could be an angle to consider as the season goes on
FP needs every bit of 3m. His record over 2 1/2 is poor The step up and front running tactics have made him. Today's trip and the ground wouldn't have been ideal so backers would have to be happy with how he was running before his fall.
For those taken with Brewin’upastorm’s victory yesterday, Joshua Stacey (Racing TV) has tweeted that Olly Murphy has confirmed the Aintree Hurdle is his target, via the Relkeel Hurdle.
Post race comments from Murphy (which I can’t put my hands on now for some reason) also state that he’s a difficult horse as he’s not a 3 miler or a 2 miler.
To my untrained eye it looked like flooring porter was still travelling well enough and i think he would have gone on to win the race, like others have said though we don't know.
For me I'm not too fussed about getting bogged down in whether he would've won or not as I think at worst he still would've finished respectability close to the eventual winner and should come on for the step up in trip come March/next time out.

He didn't look troubled at all. When they came to him it looked like he was just going to go away from them again exactly as he did in the Stayers. He really does have some engine.

Yes, he was fine, today.
Too fresh early doors, took a breather and then fell just as it looked like the taps were going to be turned on again
