Surely he already has a fairly good idea? If I owned Capodanno, I wouldn't be happy he was going to this race just to get a form line to Bob Olinger to be honest.

This sort of thing does happen though doesn't it.

Would be a fairly quick turnaround for Stattler so not sure he will be going there, same for Ontheropes. I looked through his previous runners the other day and he doesn't actually run many horses there, so maybe the plan is that none of them go there.

Just seemed strange. Would have thought it would make way more sense to let Jungle Boogie run today and Capodanno in the Ten Up. We know Willie likes to keep his options open, so there must be a reason that I'm missing. Just really not sure what it is. Assuming that GDC does go up in trip for the festival, then why would he even care about a form line with Bob Olinger through Capodanno?

The form line will indicate which race he goes for.

If Galopin hammers Capodanno on the snaff, I know where my money would be regarding race selection.

I have nothing on Galopin for the turners and alot on him for the 3 miler but you have to be realistic and not talk with the pocket.

I hope he wins today but hopefull he will be all out to get the job done.

I should be clear, my point was more to do with Jungle Boogie than Capodanno. I realise I went off on a tangent. But I really don't understand why he's not here? Assuming GDC does go up in trip, Jungle Boogie appears to be the Mullins Turner's horse doesn't he? But he will have a problem of finding a race for him after this?

I'd be very surprised if Willie doesn't already know how GDC shapes up to Capodanno, and I don't think he'd run Capodanno here just go get a form line either.

It's just an interesting set of race planning which doesn't quite add up to me.

If they're looking at the 3 miler I think you will see him ridden off the pace to gain abit of experience. Couldnt see anything leading Ahoy in March.

If he's on the front end, I think the Turners is the target.

Fingers crossed its not the latter
Or, he'll just piss in from the front exactly like Monkfish and Allaho did over 2m5f before going RSA.

He'll do this. They won't disappoint him and try holding him up.

….and Allaho got outstayed ultimately looking the real deal back at the middle trip & Monkfish fell in….just. If I was reviewing old habits, I’d be questioning doing the same thing again. Just my opinion on it

                  • The opposition will decide where GDC goes. In that respect, does he take on a potential superstar in Bob and a very, very good horse of Venetia Williams......or does he take on a very, very good horse in BMG who got beat at the festival last year.

I recall somebody saying they didn’t expect jungle boogie to run at the drf due to him being fragile and ground concerns. It may have been ruby walsh on road to Cheltenham but not 100% on that.

BMG who got beat 12 Lengths by Bob in fact.
